Long cranks

Just started having long cranks when trying to start the car...it has 105,000 miles and when I start the car it takes like 5-10 seconds to start...wondering what the issue could be?

From what I read elsewhere it come be a fuel prime issue. When you unlock the car do you hear the fuel pump come on? That buzz noise you always here when it unlocks or you open the door.

Other than that do you have any codes stored on your DME? Maybe if you have INPA you could look at fuel pressure on it.

Don't go overkill with ideas just yet. Remember the most basic things first. Hows your battery?

Post some more details and/or a video clip if you can

+1 could be your battery. Mine does the same, takes about 1-2 secs to start up. Once after 3 days not starting it took about 3 seconds (long time if you think about it)

That buzz noise is your fuel pump priming, the car is smart enough to know " if this person wants to get in the car I should wake up and prep the fuel system" as for the battery I'm assuming it was the original battery and the dealer was more than happy to sell you nice shinny new battery!

As for the long cranks I'm assuming it was dragging not not just turning over normally for a longer period of time?

Huh. May have to get the battery checked/replaced in mine. I work from home now so sometimes the car sits 2-4 days at a time and I've noticed that it can take a bit to start after sitting that long of a time. Build date is 10/07 and don't believe the battery has ever been replaced.

Work from home as well, find the same thing. If my car sits for anything more then 5 days I throw the battery tender on it. We have 3 cars so when I don't leave much it is hard to get them all into the rotation
