Cool Oh Gawd, Not Plasti-dip!!!

So, after a few weeks of debating wether or not to "dip" my wheels...

I said screw it! I needed a project on this lovely weekend here in NC.

I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this stuff! I used four cans($25 Bucks) of it. Could I have used 3 cans, sure, but I went Ham. I'd say about 7 layers or more per wheel. I took the wheels off to spray them (2 wheels at a time), total time was around 5 hours with 5-10 minutes in-between coats.

Like others have said, if you take your time, and do light coats, it doesn't look half bad! Now I'll just see how it holds up until I can get me some aftermarket wheels. Pictures below! Camera: iPhone 4

Looks great man. I'm a huge fan of plastidip. An affordable, low maintenance, reversible way to completely change the look of your vehicle.

Did the same thing on the same wheels last year. Just ordered a set of m359's but they did the job until I could get a new set! Nice

I just used a No-scrub wheel cleaner, then sprayed them off and air dried them with a compressor, no issues at all. And they seem to be holding up well 3-4 weeks in.

I had plastidipped wheels for well over a year with absolutely no issues on my previous car. Power washed and everything. If you apply it properly it will last for a long time. Very durable and easy to clean. I usually hand washed the car with that black ice car wash stuff once every couple weeks. Used a microfiber cloth on the wheels just like any other material.
Here is a freshly washed pic after having it on for like 6 months.

Been about 2 months since Plasti-Derping my wheels...

Im still impressed, Only have had 1 or 2 tiny little dings, just resprayed the area. On another note, I noticed i could have been more liberal on the edges of the spokes (where the front meets the back side). Seems a bit thin on a few spokes. Again, just sprayed a bit more on.

Also I have taken it to the self wash places a few time and put the pressure washer a few inches from the wheels to clean them, brake dust just kinda washes right off (thank god) and they hold up to direct pressure washing.

It's good stuff, obviously not the best, but not as terrible as people make it seem.

The point is so I could see how black wheels would look on my car without it being permanent.
