e90 Full LED Tail Lights Concept

Hi guys, looking at the new tail lights of the MY2009 e90 and the lack of OEM looking full LED aftermarket tail lights for us e90 owners. I thought I would sketch out what I would like to see from aftermarket manufacturers.

I think I speak for a lot of people on this forum by saying that I would like to see an OEM quality product. Both in terms of design and quality. Well assembled and errorless. If it means going in the 400 to 600$ price range, I think that a lot of people in here are going to be more than happy to pay such a price to prevent their BMW to look cheaply modded.

Please contact me if you are a manufacturer that would like to produce such a concept tail light. I can provide with further sketching and 3D models if such a project would see the light of day.

here is a preliminary sketch:

Looks very good, vincmo - if anyone can do it properly, it would be Hella, since they are OEM for a number of European manufacturers; maybe contact them & sell them your design?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the great comments. I agree that HELLA would probably be the best quality manufacturer. As for blackline, smoke, ect tests I would love to do it but would need a little bit of support by a manufacturer interested as I don't have all the time I would like to have to work on non-paying projects. I'll keep you posted if I find the time to do other testes. Again, thanks for the support and happy Thanksgiving!

@ OP, the only thing I dislike about most 3rd party LED lighting is that the LEDs they put in the assemblies are INFERIOR and do not put out as much light as OEM LED solutions. Actually I'm not sure if it's just the LED brightness or the optics, but you can tell the difference. It would be nice for BMW to have OEM LED pre-LCI solutions. I really like the LCI look, but buying a new trunk + lights is way out of my price range.
