22000 is the price and I think I'm committed now since I bought it on eBay and sent a 500 dollar deposit. Warranty available for 2000 3 yr 150000 miles

There seems to be bad cars from each build year.

Mine is an 07, 60k no problems (touch wood). Infact, I was told by a BMW specialist that my car was one of the best he'd worked on.

Honestly, don't be too put off by the fact it's an 07. You could buy a recent model and have just as many problems.

The car you're interested in sounds good with the information you've given. One owner and it's been taken care of by BMW all its life. If the particular dealership is good and it's been at the same one, then even better.

My 2007 which I have had since new has been both the most reliable car and BMW I have ever owned. Have had essentially 0 issues with it. Ok so they replaced the airbag because the roundel was cracking and I got a new taillight due to an LED failure, both under warranty, neither one common issues and extremely minor.

I did the recalls, but never had a failure of any sort with HPFP or injectors or subframe or anything else.

My car is tuned and is driven like a BMW is supposed to be driven.

Posts like above are the #1 reason why I hate coming to the forums. Too many blanket statements made by people with no credibility drawing up ridiculous percentages of failure based upon perceived opinion summoned from second or third hand experiences.
Listen, I said these numbers may be slightly exaggerated. But you can not deny the fact, as each year goes by after 2007, there are revisions to many, many mechanical parts as shown on RealOemParts.com. These revisions cost BMW money!!! Why would they revise these parts and put 'em in next years models and again and again? No, because they detect a general risk of a particular defect and they improve it in order to reduce the yield of defects in the next year and so on.

This is just basic manufacturing. At the end of the day, you can not deny. A 2007 has a higher statistical likelihood to failure than 2009+. There is no way around it. I am not saying "always" more prone. I said "statistically" from a manufacturing standpoint. It has been that way for first-year model cars in general.

All first year model cars have all kinds of problems that are generally already addressed in the next model years. Recalls are carried over. That is why BMW perform those fixes and then retroactively give owners of previous models recall campaigns to bring them in to fix it. There is no way in hell BMW manufactures cars from 2007 to 2010 that are EXACTLY the same with the same revision of parts. They will make those new fixes immediately during manufacturing. Case in point, "adding of extra radiator cooling" in 2008, subframe fix in mid-2008, injector updates, hpfp fixes each year, all of which were immediately implemented at the factory.

Bottom line is this, you get me a 2007 335i n54 that was produced on the FIRST month that the 335i came out in the states. With the original, original, defective hpfp, injectors, lack of radiator cooling, and host of other problems, and you give me the last 2010 335i n54 produced on the last month. Then we take these cars to 100k miles, and you tell me which one has a higher statistical likelihood to failure which ends up costing more money to repair. I never said "always" or "for sure", I said "statistically" more likely.

My 09 had hpfp, injectors(undrivable twice) , hvac fan, radio, steering rack hoses and pump and front suspension was starting to creak.....all before 55,000 miles.
