Knock on wood. I've had my 08 for 6 months now no problems at all. Starting to hear the blower motor ticking I believe. Its a loud tick I'm not sure what it really is but this car has been wonderful. 6 months and 5k miles so far

Its been 2 years... literally 0 problems with my 07 335i so far. changed the spark plugs (wasn't necessary, but it hit 60k so why not) besides that, oil changes and brake pads this car has been very reliable. Gonna roll up on 67k next week.

Any who, the major problem I have is the wife preaching about how much I've spent and still spending. So my warning to you is this, stay away from the forum to avoid getting bit by the mod bug. Just about any performance mod will increase the wear and tear.
To sum it up, you have to pay to play.

If you by any car, you are guaranteed issues. All cars have rear and tear items and those would have to get replaced sooner when modding. It's hit or miss when it comes to a specific item. I never had to get my injectors, fuel pump, or water pump replaced and I'm running e85 78k miles (but have waste gate rattle). It just 'risks' that comes with the hobby, still a great car.

I think with every car, it's more or less a dice roll. I've had issues with a Honda before, consistently one problem or another all different problems so can't do the lemon law. Wife had issues with her Toyota Rav4 consistently as well. Granted issues with Honda and Toyota are cheaper to fix then BMW hehe. The point is it's more or less a luck roll when it comes to cars... some requires more maintenance then others.

Even with the same year and model, there's still variation on the production line, previous owners, and just plain old luck.

My 2010 E90 M 335i has been an AMAZING car so far. Purchased it with 17k miles and I've literally had zero problems. I haven't been to the dealer for any work in over 5 months which is pretty amazing considering I'm tuned, FBO and running e-85. I think BMW finally fixed all the bugs on the 2010 models since it was the last cycle of N54's.

My buddies 2011 E92 M 335i (N55) has been in and out of the dealer several times. He hates the car. He's had it shut off while driving on the freeway..., transmission problems etc. and oh yeah, it's slow.

I think you might have just bought one of those problematic 335's :-/

This is why I never buy new.
98k on my 07 335i. No issues other than needing to replace the plugs

I'm prepared for whatever. I'm putting away $200/month into a "car maintenance/repair" savings account even though I have about 18 months left of factory warranty and another 24 months after that of CPO warranty.

Knock on wood, no issuss here. Bought my 07 e90 6mt with 43k miles. Helix fmic, dual cone intake and that's it. So far it's a blast and working great!
