I'm posting this over here for my buddy Dan. He works in Alaska and can only access the internet on his phone, and asked that I move his thread to E90post.

We pulled the dps to see what the gig was today and found it was just one turbo blown. Exhaust side turbine is simply gone.. Probably left it on the road as i have free flowing no Cat dual exhaust lol.


So now that thats done, the car is going to get trailed to Proven Power in Tampa, FL where they will build a custom manifold, head flange and downpipe. Car goes to them next Sunday Dec 30.

When i get back home again from work in alaska around Jan 18th we will pick up the car and put it all together.
Boostaddict and Rabbitpusher will be putting it all together, so they can answer any of the more technical questions.

The new turbo is a Precision 6466 vband .84 a/r with 3 5/8" V band discharge. We are going to do a single 4" exhaust.

To start the car will run on fixed boost of the wastegate spring at 15psi most likely. Once its up and running the car then gets shipped to Terry for some special TLC and boost control/tuning. Ill keep this thread updated with full disclosure and pictures of the manifold/dp fabbing will be up as soon as i get pics.

BoostAddict pulling the dps, all the oil lol, and the blown turbo... and some pics of the new turbo.

The project got delayed a little while because the shop was trying to source head flanges from local machine shops. For some reason two machine shops couldn't get it right. As soon as Vargas had flanges back in stock they were shipped to Tampa within two days. So the project is going to move fast from here.

BoostAddict, I'd really like to look at that install and exhaust in a couple months when I get back from sw asia. Any chance you guys would want to do another? Really interested in seeing how the manifold and downpipe come out.

Looks awesome! Always nice to see custom single builds going down.

.58 A/R on a T4 hotside? I am guessing thats a typo? The 64mm is such a perfect turbo for this motor. Should have lots of headroom for when you want to go for some big boy numbers hehe.

Call up Proven Power. I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem making another. The owner Darrel does really nice work.

I'm not affiliated with Proven Power, just have a friend who works there.

Good choice in turbo for making big power and pretty quick spool. It's the same turbo I am actually upgrading to now on my stock block S2000 with the new Full Race twin scroll manifold. I'm gonna push the S's stock block to around 900 whp with it on e85.
