First time i saw it was when i had a m3 on loan and its just felt good and then when i went back into mine it felt too thin. Even though its an expensive outlay its worth every penny imo

What i did at the end of the install was the plug in the fob and click it in fully. Then I connected the terminal back in. This was done just to prevent any current going through the wheel and airbag popping out!!

But everything went smooth as a baby's bum!

Fitted

The nut didn't take too much force, but i used an extended wheel brace so must have been easier.

Going for a test drive now. Hopefully everything works!

Feels so much better. Thicker, softer and grippier. I like how its ribbed behind. Feels like quality now and IMO it should have been like this from the factory!

Driving hard feels gooood!

30 mins. And in that time i had to transfer my piano black wheel cover and paddles (i bought new M3 ones before). Its very easy. Just remember where a few clips go and remember the position that the centre nut is in; i just took a photo

You doing it this weekend?

yea I am going to try this Saturday...the M3 wheel is sitting on my desk screaming to be fitted

To transfer the controls is that hard? Im guessing I will have to take out the M3 buttons to fit mine on off the old one

If you mean the multi functions buttons, yeah its really easy to swap them. When you take the steering wheel cover off, just push the MF controls through and they will pop out. Then just unplug the clip, just above the central nut.

When you open it up it will hopefully be a lot clearer.

Forgot to say there are 2 T20 screws on the back of the MF controls. Unscrew and they will pop out

Hi All,

This is getting tempting now...need to get this done...but difficult to find one with an airbag...

However, as discussed earlier, here's a pic of steering wheel I have (found a pic on gumtree)

I guess this airbag will not be suitable?

Hey Mistry,

Collection from Bham, should not be a problem.

Having spent a fair amount on summer wheels, finding it hard to justify more spending! I will have a think and let you know...as still 50/50

The way i thought of the spend was that you're investing in something which you hold in your hands everytime you drive. One of the most important controls.

Ha! I like your thinking!

This is going to sound very amateur....but I've always thought that with things like steering wheels, once installed then they shouldn't be tinkered with....you know you get worried about playing around with things like this!

Also there is no way I think I could fit this - how much will this roughly cost?

Dude if you're local, I can do it for free mate, no probs. I was honestly the same as you but it takes no more than 35 mins if you take your time. MOB17 was so keen he did his in the dark LOL (had to share this one dude )

It's a very easy mod and If someone showed you you'd think what the.... This is a total breeze! Lol. Not sure how much someone would change but given its a half hour job, don't pay any more than 1 hours labour no matter what anyone says lol.
