Mach V now offers 335d tuning from Evolve
We're proud to announce a partnership with Evolve Automotive, allowing us to offer remapping services for the 335d. Evolve's 335d tuning has been refined over the past year, and the current versions offer lots of smooth power. "Like stock, but faster everywhere," according to a recent customer.
The re-tune requires removing the ECU from the car. You can bring us the car and have us pull the ECU, or leave the car at home and bring us the ECU. (Or even mail it to us, if it's too far to drive here.) It takes a few hours to perform the re-map operation. So far I don't have dyno numbers; that'll have to wait until I we reflash a car that can stay around long enough to dyno. One other Evolve re-tune customer on these forums reported 327 rwhp and 489 lb-ft, though: ![]() (Note this graph is using "STD" correction factor; I use "SAE," which will read slightly lower with the same data.) Price on the reflash is $799. We've been fielding a lot of requests for this service over the past year or so. I'm happy to say we can now deliver it. --Dan Mach V |

Hi Dan, working on suspension bits before I add more power. That will be completed in a couple of weeks. Trying to decide on a piggyback or the ECU flash. I know which one I would be more ultimately satisfied with. Just still pondering the logistics and ramifications.

I am seeing low/mid 20's mostly city with a very heavy foot. Mid/high 30's highway - that's doing 75+ I can squeeze out 40+ if I set the cruise at 60. (This is with the jbd, I would expect similar w/Evolve)

Yes. We could do an Evolve tune on that car, but we also have the Cobb AccessPort for that car, which is far more flexible -- plus if the maps that come with the AccessPort aren't enough power for you, I can custom-program using the AccessPort.

TDIwyse was running Evolve with a fair amount of data logging before he switched to another tuning company for the sake of DPF, SCR, and EGR delete. Note that he ran multiple versions including a setup with Evolve + a stacked custom-programmed JBD + water/meth injection. Until recently, this setup held our resident record 1/4mi time (only to be surpassed by another car running 1000ml/min of pure methanol). On a side note, watch out for the UK Dynos. They all use estimated crank numbers. If you don't feel like clicking through the links, TDI's original Evolve-only dyno put it at about 282whp. I believe that they later did a higher output version for him which increased the numbers slightly and is available upon request. There was also talk about an option for tuning the fuel pressure along with the standard timing, turbo, etc, (pretty much what TDI was doing with the custom stacked JBD setup which brought the numbers toward 327, but all through the tune). I'm not sure if anyone ever implemented this. Overall. Everyone to whom I ever spoke about their Evolve tune was quite pleased. Many pick this option over RENNtech for price and over JBD for true non-piggy-back-tuning.

Reviving old thread again - can this still be done anywhere in the U.S.? Can it still be done by Mach V? I have a CPO 2011 335d with a warranty running out in a few months. After a bunch of reading it looks like the Evolve tune should be about the best in terms of the combination of overall power increase, even crazier torque, and improved efficiency. However, in the time since I bought my 335d, if you look at Evolve's own web page(s), it appears that they've redone both of them and in the process all reference to the availability of a tune for the U.S. 335d has disappeared. hey have not answered my emails.
Can the Evolve tune still be had in the U.S.? If not, is there an alternative that is designed to deliver a similar balance of improved HP, torque and MPG? Any advice much appreciated. |
