So looks like 2007-2011 manufactured 3 series coupes. That's the majority of us here.
What if you are already out of warranty and did not purchase through a BMW dealer? |

Hmmm.. could that possibly be why my car drops back to N on gear? It does feel like the car is about to stall when that happens and then when it pops onto N, it regains rev (safety measure?). And it did stall once in gear - thankfully I was waiting at the lights.

Hey
Don't want to sound dumb (and I'm sure some of you will tell me if I do) but on my reading of the notice, it applies to E90's also - is that right? Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yes, it applies to E90s as well.
The US recall lists the following models, but qualifies the lists by saying "certain model year" 2008-2012 x-Series etc (which I assume means selected models within each range): Quote:

FYI Called BMW Sylvania today to check on the recall, since my car is booked-in for an issue with adaptive headlights beginning of March... They said they won't get the parts until April, and I need to wait for the letter anyway, because not all models affected...
So they won't be able to fix it beginning for March, and I'll have to bring it back in April if I receive the letter... |

Typical of BS Stillwell in South Yarra. I rang yesterday to book the car in, service department was busy. Reception tried again and it went to voice mail, so I left a message and no one returned my call. This has happened with this stealership a few times. The trouble is I live only a few kilometres from them and it suits me work wise etc.
This will be the last time I go there (if I can get through to service) only because its a recall. I will not be spending my time there ever again for service or anything. ![]() |
