Talking MOT Pass

Didn't expect anything else, but it's always a relief, isn't it?

Advisories for all 4 tyres, which I was expecting. Rears on 2.5mm, fronts on 3mm with serious outer edge wear.

Rears are getting done next week, I've got a pair of shiny new F1 Assy 2 in the shed waiting to be fitted. Fronts will have to wait a couple of weeks till payday.

Nice, always a relief. Had mine done Q3 last year and it went through like a breeze. Throw on the new rubber and enjoy!

Good news.

I got my MOT coming up next month and the front are sitting on 4mm with edge wear don't know if it will fail or not. Some one told me my tires are illegal. I do have a pair in my garage to put on but don't want to waste 4mm if its safe.

My brother in law tests my car. I don't get worried about it, never seem to have too much of a problem

As said always a relief! If you take your cars to the same place every year or someone you use for other things I find always helps!

Good effort though

Depends on the edge wear. The MOT regs say there must be sufficient tread across the central 75% of the tyre. As long as the edge wear doesn't eat into the central 75%, you'll be fine.

I got two advisories from the garage when I got my MOT. Both were to do with the plastic under tray limiting access to do a full inspection? Strange as never had that before.
But, as you say it's always a relief to pass. I give the cars to my dad to take in, I think they feel sorry for the old boy and pass my cars :-)

Yes, I got that one too - very odd because I would imagine pretty much every car now comes with both undertray and top engine cover.

Mine failed on rear tyres last year they had cracked along the tyre wall following the brand name on them. Wasnt good when you could see the wire inside.

:-)
Some garages put this in to cover themselves as they are not allowed to take cover off to inspect
