M3 Rear Diff bushings stiffer than 335 diff bushings?

Thinking of upgrading my rear diff bushings to M3 diff bushings if they are compatible and stiffer. I saw some old threads on this with no real clarity.

I don't want to go solid diff bushings and I'm trying to stay OEM.

Has anybody done this or heard if M3 rear diff bushings are compatible and stiffer than the 335 bushings?

I'm pretty sure they'd fit fine and would definitely be stiffer too. I opted for these instead:

How have those affected performance of the rear? Did NVH increase for you? And how do these compare to the ones you purchased?

I actually just received mine about 10 minutes ago so they're obviously not on my car yet. I've heard the ones in the link that you've posted would be a little more harsh in terms of NVH.

There's a thread in here where the M3 diff bushings were briefly discussed; can't remember the title. I think 'BMW135er' got the M3 diff bushings and determined they're not any stiffer than non-m. He's a BMW shop foreman.
NVH is subjective like ride quality and exhaust sound. Lot's of enthusiasts here that can probably tolerate more nvh than me on a DD. If I ever get to the diff bushings, it'll be Powerflex urethane for me.

Hey there! Yes I recall that thread. I'm getting somewhat loose not totally connected feeling in the rear and this is after I've recently upgraded to BMWPS, M3 rear subframe mounts, m3 bits in rear, Megan rear Toe Arms, and Michelin PSS. I know it's not the M3 arms or the toe arms as the sensation started occurring after I upgraded the subframe mounts and before the arms were installed (but not immediately after subframe upgrade, took a month or so to develop). Had them look under very briefly and they said they thought they saw a crack in one diff mount, but who knows. I'm thinking of upgrading the diff mounts and having them try assessing the subframe mounts while under there. I'm hearing subframe doesn't need to be dropped (but must remove all the common stuff in the way and the diff). Once I can get this rear planted I can do M3 front bits...Downpipes this weekend though :-)

I'm guessing you get that loose/unconnected rear feeling under hard acceleration from slow speeds and since you switched to PSS tires, which have alot more grip than your rft's did. Probably diff bushings. I just don't nail the throttle from a dig anymore The difference between those 2 links above is one has all three delrin diff bushings whereas the other has one delrin bushing and two alu. I'd go all delrin if not interested in urethane. Too bad BMW doesn't make group n diff bushings.

I think my case is a bit more extreme than yours. For me there is just too much play in the rear over rougher surfaces and bumps. I recall when I first got the subframe bushings done it was solid and planted. Now I just get too much twist/wiggle/oscillation/looseness (what to call it I have no clue). Something has given in it seems, unsure what else it could be. I will start with differential bushings and an inspection of the subframe mounts (I would be surprised if it is not either of those 2 causing the issue).

You might consider the diff lockdown kit made by DEFIV Fab. Not sure if Rick has posted on this forum, but there are several happy customers posting on another forum. The kit has aluminum bushings and has been successful at killing wheel hop.
