Only thing I forgot to ask Carsten was if these ICs are anodized or not.

Can you post up the dimensions of the IC compared to stock? It would be sweet if this somehow fit directly for the x5. Thanks!

Wagner IC & ExecuHitch

PR335d,

I am no longer an active DIYer. How complicated is the installation of the Wagner IC? I would be having a local indy do it.

Also, on the Execuhitch: I have read the material. I guess you are happy with that product, huh? I guess a good body shop would work for that install too. Am thinking about swapping out my base model rear bumper for an M Sport bumper and perhaps a different diffuser. I guess all that would still work fine with the hitch, right?

Partial

For us Canadians, shipping is $145 USD on the Wagner IC. US residents only pay $32 USD on their shipping.

Plug and Play?

I'm sure this has been covered in this very long thread, but....

Is this Wagner IC basically plug-and-play? Meaning: will the ECU/DDE basically just adjust what it does to accommodate the different air flow and temperature characteristics, hopefully all accruing to improved performance and maybe even better MPG as a side benefit?

And may one assume that you will get a bigger marginal percentage positive effect if you start with a tuned machine than you will if start with a non-tuned machine? I guess that's a tough one to answer without seeing the numbers that we have all been wondering about.

It is pretty much plug and play. No doubt if the unit does what it's supposed to do, the car will run more efficiently. Best way would be to adapt the tune to the new IC in order to take full advantage of it.

Hey amigo SQUID!! are you a POLYWOG or Sheelback?

The IC is a plug and play item. also and INDY can do it in less than an hour if he/she knows that there has to cut and area of about one foot by a quater of an inch of plastic below the radiator. I have the ALL the videos will try to post them tonite ok

As far as MPG you will increase on this part just ask TurboEddie from another site(he is getting 45-47 mpg on HWAY!!), as far as I hv I'v gotten over 210 miles on a half tank and I have exceeded over 130 mph on various ocassions during the weekend and raced other cars. My main concern is city mpg and wont be able to do it until next tankfull.

So I'm lost. Are you saying that adding the intercooler made your car too powerful to stay on the dyno AND increased fuel mileage 10mpg from just 4whp? Am I missing something?
