iDrive does not read Navigation disc - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hi all,

I have a 2007 E92 335D with a CCC iDrive system. I have finally got hold of a BMW Road Map Europe Professional 2013 disc (06-08 version) after years of intending to (silly 4 digit postcode entry). When I remove my current 07 maps disc which came with car and insert the new 2013 maps disc nothing happens... the system seems to get sluggish and the messege that came up when I removed the original 07 disc remains... 'Insert Navigation Disc' as if there is no disc in the drive. I have read a few forums and am aware it takes 5 mins but I have waited and waited....

The disc I am using is a copy I bought off e-bay, when I insert the 07 disc back in it works perfectly fine. I have tried using an updated disc a few years ago and the same thing happened.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be, any help would be much appreciated.

From my experience it's the disk. I've tried about 5 different (brand) disks when I wanted the 2012 maps and finally got one to work.

I used a Phillips disk for my 2013 North America and burned it at low speed. Make sure it is a ISO file.
