Car Storage ~ 4 weeks

Does anyone know what the safest way is to store a car securely for 4 weeks. I don't have a garage and wouldn't want to leave my car on the drive. Maybe a container somewhere? I don't know.

I have heard horrow stories of the c*nts at Heathrow who joyride your car and use it as a taxi when you go on holiday, when they are supposed to be storing it! So a bit wary, and would like to know what some of you guys have done.

Thanks but i was looking for a car storage company who could also insure it.

Anyone know of any good ones in the midlands or Birmingham?

I jest!

Could you not leave it at the airport car park but just note mileage etc? I've done the same before without any problems

Just leave it in the long stay, you don't have to worry about others driving it and if you park at the back you can avoid some cunt leaving you door dents.

4 weeks isn't long enough to worry about car storage.

Thats exactly what i'm worried about, some c*nt keying or denting it! I know chances of this are very small but i want a place where the car will get the right treatment, and maybe be pampered too!

I wouldn't mind paying a small premium to get something more secure...

As above, I think you are a little paranoid, just park in the long stay and take your keys with you.

It's unlikely to get keyed, that's the sort of thing a drunk yob would do, not someone who's parking up in the airport at 5am for a holiday or business trip.

This time of year you can just park at the back of the long stay. Most are massive but only ever fill up for 4 weeks a year over the summer. Most like-minded people do the same so you will probably see a few others dotted around with the obligatory 1-car gap.
The only downside is you will have a 30min walk to the front of the car park!

Most UK airport car parks tend be crammed full of German cars and a fair amount of exotic stuff in the mix so your car isn't going to be singled out.

It's not like parking outside Tesco, you don't have to worry about some bimbo in a shed dumping it next you and having her 12 simpleton children all smash their doors your paintwork as they clamber out.

Apologies if this is obvious but don't straddle the white line to give yourself mega-clearance from the adjacent bays. Even if the car-park is half empty you WILL get a surcharge.

Haha love the way you put that mate! Well that has made me feel better and i was probably being a bit paranoid. What about getting flat spots on the tyres. Or would that not happen in 4 weeks?

Good god now you are getting OCD about it!!! Cars hang around a lot longer than that, flat spots in tyres will not be a problem!

Park it up in the long stay and stick a clamp on it.

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/7404197.htm

Alternatively, pop to Wickes and purchase 4 concrete blocks, place in boot. Pitch up at the long stay c/park, and remove the 4 concrete blocks from the boot.

Removing one wheel at a time, place one block under each disc, and put the wheels/tyres in the car (you've done this before).

The above will ensure the car stays where it's parked, and the tyres won't suffer from selective premature flat spots

I've already left........................>

Just checked the prices for long stay at the airport. They are all above 100 so it would actually be cheaper to use the above!

Hahaha Imagine seeing that! That would be real OCD!

Think the clamp is definitely a good idea. Didn't think of that. But i've just found out long stay works out more expensive than using a car storage company, who will also pamper my baby if i wish. But long stay is convienient, and means that some of us and some luggage can go in my car. will need to think this through more.
