Watching Django now. Will watch TG later and FF through the bullshit. Should leave me with 10 minutes of viewable stuff. Comes to something when the star in a reasonably priced car is becoming the best bit...

Yep same here. I actually gave it a chance today but have already turned over. Its just more lame acting/lines, and no actual interesting car content. So fucking pointless.

Ho ho ho! I can't imagine how that's going to turn out! Those wacky funsters and their irreverent take on...

Sorry. Can't do it.

No. The terramax was awesome. Just watch it.

To the rest of you I stand by my previous comment. The only thing I do every week and yet moan about is work for a living. Anything else that I hate doing I simply don't do? So - here's a hint for you. Just stop it.

All I'm saying.

I agree and disagree in equal measure - i still like TG and will continue to watch it - there are parts that i vehemently detest like the "news" section when they all sit around on the car seats and practice their comedic skills and generally fail miserably - however, im normally happy to sit through most of the shite in order to enjoy the better bits - in terms of last night i really enjoyed the new Rangie piece and parts of the Fiat Multipla VT had me chuckling - but overall i do agree that TG is half the show it used to be and the presenters huge ego's have taken over and make the show far less about car content and far more about themselves - im enjoying Fifth Gear more and more but simply cant abide that utter twat Tiff Needell - each to their own i guess!!

Its not that I hate everything about it, just some parts are really worth watching. It's not plausable that we, TG lovers for years, will accept this new format and exit quietly through the back door

But i agree with the comment above and now Fifth Gear is the car show to watch IMO.

.... If you are old enough to remember Top Gear with William Woolard in the 70s and early 80s, when there were only serious motoring topics .... child seat reviews, mini metro reviews, road safety advice, consumer issues, etc. you would see why the new format has proven to be so popular. Worldwide.

Top Gear pre the refresh was crap.

But top gear stopped being a proper show in about 2006 and became more and more a chat and entertainment show.

But I don't care. It's entertaining. I hate Hammond but he knows alot of people hate him, and I like that. So swings and roundabouts.

May is quality, and Clarkson for PM. Loved the tyrade about the world's drivers last night. He knows he'll get complaints and doesn't give a damn. I like that.

Fifth gear is just so dull. Production values are crap, and Tiff is the dullest person alive on the planet today. I've seen him perform live at MPH and it was just so, so dull. He has absolutely no charisma.

VB "meat curtains" Henderson used to be OK, but to me she's now become a bit of a Hammond too. A charicature of the original personality.

Anyways. Horses for courses but I still like Topgear, I just know what it is I'm sitting down to watch so don't get all bitter and twisted when it isn't anything else.

Ratings speak volumes when it comes down to it and having a car show that the whole family are happy to watch means big numbers. I also enjoy watching it with the parents and other half after sunday lunch; whereas if I watch 5G it's by myself on catchup when I'm not doing anything else. The OH absolutely refuses to even be in the room with it, it's that dull.

And she's a car enthusiast! So that says it all imho.

Dave_3's point above about child seat reviews is a very fair one...
