Looks good mate!

Also, you saved me a job, I was going to make a topic/search about tints and it's confirmed. I need it done!

There's the quite a lot of darkness going on in that photo - probably in daylight there's much more contrast between the car and the alloys. A good clean would help, like you say.

Im a fan of dark wheels, i've colour coded mine with a gloss rear diffuser and will be doing gloss mirrors and finally a CSL style bootlid, fading to a black edge. Think a spoiler would help with the aggressiveness you might be going for with the alloys?

On the whole, I like it.

Looks good mate. Got my wheels powder coated black with a 1/2 chrome flake. Wasnt sure at first but really like them now . Havnt had any negative comments . Also helps to keep the tyres well slicked black.

I think graphite would have been better, black will always be darker than the tyre unless you have just dressed them, and that is not a good look.

Where as graphite gives you the look but in a much better balance...

Hmmm, I always think graphite (unless its polished up a treat!) makes it look like you've not cleaned your alloys in a year or two!

like the idea of black rims.

as it gives a mean/agressive look.

but i agree with it getting lost with the tires tho.

i have black rims bbs rs gt on a steel grey e46 coupe looks nice.

even dark grey/gunmetal grey would work withyour car too.

Never been a fan of black wheels as the detail of the wheels is lost in the black colour. You also lose the contrast between the tyre and the wheel. Just also seems a bit "too much." Each to his own however.

Still a mixed review on here from the UK then aswell,
Like you guys are saying each to there own i guess it doesnt help my point that the wheels are dirty aswell.

Not a fan of the graphite personally think it looks plastic but again that IMO.

Cheers for the comments anyways ill get some pics of the car clean and outside where its brighter.

Also what the problem with tire dress?? why is this not a good look?? pretty much all show cars i have seen are tyre dressed even with black wheels.

Cheers

Sorry - not a fan. its not that the wheels and tint are bad in themselves, they just dont seem to sit well with the blue colour of the car itself. I think that with a red car, this might have looked great.

For me black wheels say drug dealer or pimp. There are very few cars I can think of that suit black wheels for me. If you have a really electric colour I think it can work and white I think it can work but even then I'd be looking for the more smokey tints first.

There is no contrast when you have dark blue and black and that just means you lose all your styling detail.

Think you miss understood... the comments above are mearly saying that with black alloys, you MUST have your tyres dressed otherwise the contrast between the alloys and the tyres doesn't look right....

Blue and Black go together nicely. I run this setup in the winter and wrap my 19" 313's in cotton wool during the cold weather.

Dressing the tyres does make them look better.

I've only had positive comments about the look, until now....

Sorry for the misunderstanding about tire dress lol

As for the tint the tint on my car is the original from bmw i think this pic is alot more dark than it should be let me take some pics of the car clean and outside and will see comments then. Most of it is personal opinion anyways.

Give the car a good clean and take a picture outside, I think you'll get better responses....

Personally I feel black and blue doesn't work as well as black wheels on white cars. However, its all about what you like!

Did I see you're running H&R springs, are they on standard shocks and how you finding them?

Yer the H&R race springs are good not much different to the standard sport IMO and its on original strut. And shocks for now haha.
