Ipad Mini Case

Getting an Ipad mini for the wife and need a case to protect it. Are the undoubtably overpriced Apple items the way to go or is there some cheaper but still decent items.

Don't really like the official Apples one's due to the fact that they are

A) Overpriced
B) Only protect the front screen leaving the back and sides too vulnerable to accidental damage.

Look for cases which offer more all round protection IMO, the missus bought a nice leather one from Snuggie that you slip the ipad into which offers it better protection, switches it off when you close the lid and let's you use it as a stand for the device.

I agree with Guvernator.

If I was stupid enough to buy an iPad mini :P I'd go for something like this it's cheap, simple and elegant, as far as cases go anyways!

Don't throw that thought into the equation please
It has to be an Ipad but spent the last few weeks trying to decide between Mini and Ipad4 - still haven't totally finalised but leaning towards the Mini.

If it's primarily for the missus, get the Mini. The ipad4 is actually a bit too big and in extended use is quite heavy\cumbersome for delicate hands. The mini also fits in a handbag so she can carry it more easily and it's the "in vogue" model at the moment so she can impress her mates when she goes to meet them for coffee.

(All straight from the OH's mouth so you know it makes sense)

Go to an Apple shop and try a few out. That's not meant in a funny way.

I had an incase cover for my iPad 2 not realising it was for an iPad 1 which was squarer so it never fit right.

I didn't like the weird apple cases that only protected the front but they do make full cases now that cover the back. I've got one and am really happy with it. The unlock feature is cool imo.
