I pulled into a parking lot a while back here and across from me pulled in a E92 328 with an M3 badge on the back. Didn't have a camera with me then.

I guess San Antonio might be getting more of these

So yesterday I'm pulling out and get behind this douche. Luckily I was at the light behind him to snap a pic. I think he saw me pointing the phone cause he kept putting on his hazards. Unbelievable someone would go through this trouble on a car that's not an M...but funny nonetheless..It's one thing to have the M3 badge..but that M roundel is just horrible..and really tops this off....

He should have put QUADS back there instead of that badge

wonder if he put M badges on his seats and shift knob.
can't really say anything now because BMW is putting M on everything.

Why didn't you call the cops so they could hold him and his car in custody until BMW of North America was notified?

I was saying that I saw an E92 in a parking lot a while back (328) that had an M3 badge on the rear as well. I know it's an E46.

The M3 badge is bad enough....but the M emblem is really gay...a cheap one at that.

I think he was flashing his hazards to say hi...lol..

Been through El Paso lately? Saw one or two 335 badges on the back of some as well.

Don't be getting ideas to start doing chromed Buick fender vents now!

Here and there in Orlando I have spotted some wannabes M3s when they're really driving an older 3 series like a 328i/330i. It amuses me as I pull next to them and then all of a sudden their passengers are looking at my E90 335i. Needless to say, we all know whos quicker and they found out, lol.

Not to get too serious but...what kind of internal insecurity does someone have to have to do something like this...I mean, really. I just don't get it.

Well there are two VERY distance possibilities..

1. It actually is an M3. He just converted it to a sleeper...changing all the panels/bumpers/exhaust.

2. He just did it as a joke so people like me would get irritated by it and take pics and post them on forums to irritate other people and laugh about it.

If it was a beatup hooptie <<is that a word? I could almost understand. You're just somebody who has a beatup BMW and decided to put whatever on it. But this was a nice, clean E46....so who knows...

This is clearly some kind of special "only 100 made" anniversary edition or something.

Who would really go out of there way to do something like that?

Why can't people just be content, an e46 328 is a nice car still, you don't have to pretend you have an M3. They're obviously doing it so other people think they have an M3 its not like anyone is going to say I just put it on there because I like the look better and idc what others think.

Good points...

Number 1 I get...but isn't the point of a sleeper to NOT identify the actual car underneath?

Number 2 is also possible...and it obviously worked.

The last idea requires enough degrees of separation so that the joke is clear...like this...

Well modded BMW's are EXTREMELY rare here. I just find it amusing that I've seen two very clean BMW's (328's) with M3 badges.

Good point on #1 Andy...if you were going to make it a sleeper, you wouldn't put the badge on...duh...

#2 - I just don't like someone else to get the last laugh...so I always have to have some assumption the other party is doing it to get a rise....from someone that takes things too serious.
