Combox and Hifi coding - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

So, My Audio Thread: has lead me to realise I have a combox sitting under the boot floor! I never knew what the device was! Thanks to alpina for the heads up

What exactly is the process to get this enabled, so I can have album art etc?

Is getting it enabled enough to mean I can also get internet through the iDrive or is more required?

I'd also like to get the HU coded to hifi at the same time? But need to discuss this with someone that REALLY understands what this will change about the output signal and can undo it if needed. What with the bit one having to play nice. I don't for example want to end up coding the sub out of the stereo channel and having to rewire everything to get it back

Appreciate any good reading around this... Especially the combox point though

For Combox, Alpina is the right person to get in touch. You can also ask him to code your system to hi-fi as well.

With hi-fi you will get rid of base system equilisation and sound processing / time allignment. You will get flat neutral sound and you will get clear sound on lower and upper end. It is reversible.

It's a proper decision to make then. The bit one will need starting from scratch if I go that route.

I have a box under my boot but thought that was just iDrive? How can I tell if it is a combox??

What year is your new car Mega?
