CCC Nav pro versus TomTom

Having recently taken ownership of my new (to me) 2008 E90 edition M sport with CcC variant Nav professional with the late 2012 (2013) dvd i've been unimpressed with the routing its suggested as compared to what tomtom provided me.

Is this generally the case, and that the cic variant provided smarter routing equiv to tomtom or would tomtom still win, i ask as i'm considering the upgrade but am feeling that the upgrade would still leave me underwhelmed and thinking i still need to have tomtom around, or does it blow it out the water. I know the graphics and speed are an improvement but its the best routing capability that i want, gucci graphics are nice but if they take you a dodgy route then !!! Gratfeul for comments from tomtom to cic converts and why?

Thanks
Gary

A little trick my friend showed me with my CCC iDrive was changing the way it routes. When you put in a destination, it probably pops up saying "fast route being calculated"? If so, you can change the setting to "short route" and it gives you a more logical route. I almost never used my actual nav system until I found this out, now it gives me better routes that I actually use.

Well...i'll set that immediately and monitor the routing, at the moment with Fast or motorway's it's bizarre..the route it takes is just useless.

Shortest it is ...

Very many thanks for taking the time to comment.

Kind Regards

Tried this and routing still weird and routes you'd never choose.

Thanks anyway.
