Like someone else said I dont think this applies to LCDs. They are less fragile in this regard.

I bought a 60 thin LED blacklit TV and laid it flat (and sweated the whole ride home praying everything would be ok when I installed it)

A plasma on the other hand no doubt would have had a cracked display when he plugged it in.

Yeah! My 05 Camry couldn't even fit a 47" properly with the seats folded down, and that car is huge!

hahaha...Impressive.
Years back I bought 40'' LCD tv, the box was so big I had to keep my Lancer's trunk open and 30% box hanging out...lol, of course it was tied with rope lines.

So irritating that it would not fit in my SEDAN because of the stupid tiered options for folding seats.......

I've fit a 55" and a 46" LED in the backseat of my e90.... out of the box, of course!

Luckily the size of these boxes have been made smaller over the years. I can remember years ago a 40" Samsung hanging out of my trunk. That box was larger in every dimension than most 55" boxes made today.

When I first saw the title of this thread my response was, "what kinda moron is gonna try and mount a 55" monitor in his car?!?"

This is good stuff, John

wait wait wait, did you go through the trunk or did you go through the back seats through the driver's door first?

that's amazing that you could fit it... it looks like an optical illusion. The trunk's opening width is not as wide as the box, it would appear.

did you go in from a serious angle? Plus, I'm surprised the hole for the fold down rear seats was wide enough to go through like that.

Actually with a 55 inch I still had about 6 inches left in the hole. Thought I had 0 inches for the length :-)

Never piss into the wind is a pearl of wisdom- ignored at your peril!
