Wheel Curb Rash Repair

Scuffed the outter edge of one of my wheels today Has anyone used a wheel repair shop in the MD area aside from Ye Old Wheel Shop?

Has anyone used Dent Wizard, Wheel Doc, or Wheel Repair of Alexandria (Kwicksilver)?

I have used awrs before (www.awrswheelrepair.com/). They have many convenient satellite sites where you can drop your wheel off at. I had a crack in one of my VMR wheels and they fixed it good as new which about a 1 week turn around. Cost me $150 I think. Fixing curb rash should be cheaper and quicker.

I will check them out, thank you. But I am not going to be removing my wheel, either they will have to fix it on the car or I will drop my car with them for part of the day - hence why I am not going Ye Old Wheel shop.

Dent Wizard at BMW of Rockvlle repairs wheels and I am planning to drop my car off for dent removal so maybe I will just have them do it while it's there.

I've used Jose many times and for any events when needed. He's mobile and can either fix on the car or take the wheel with him to color match

business started by Brian Dean. Used him a couple times before and have been very satisfied. It's a mobile service too - they can come to your home or where you work.

Cool! I'll also give them a try as I have a little rash I'd like cleaned up. Keep us up-to date on how it turns out!

Nope, but they are always back logged and I don't feel like waiting for a couple of weeks to get my wheel back, since I don't plan to take my wheel off the car which would leave me without a car for that long - not to mention they are also a lot further away.

Okay just a quick follow-up... I had Wheels On Site do the repair and I must say their work is fantastic! I grazed a curb doing like 20 mph and they repaired the area so well that I cannot even tell. They charge more than some of the other vendors, but it was worth it! They guarantee their work for the lifetime of the wheel. Highly recommended!

Thanks for the recommendations boyz!

$179 repaired at your house. There are multi-wheel discounts and dscounts for repeat customers.

$179 is more than most?

That's about average for the DC area, no?

Glad things worked out for you. Brian Dean, the owner, knows his business and I've been using his wheel repair services since 2007.

Yes, it was more than the other quotes I got from some of the companies mentioned above. Prices ranged from $95 at their shop to $125 per wheel.

I decided to go with the higher priced quote because Brian was professional, he seemed honest and it seemed like he knew what the hell he was doin; Not to mention many of the dealers and bodyshops in the area recommended him and he backs his work with a lifetime guarantee.

Brian was stuck working on another set of wheels on Friday correcting another vendor's hack job, so he sent Chris who did a fantastic job. Glad I went with Wheels Onsite.

FWIW, I recently called around for quotes on complete wheel refinishing...
Nationwide:150/wheel including any small bends found (wasn't too impressed by their painter)
Alloy Wheel Repair Services: 150/wheel face only, 200 face&barrell, seemed very knowledgeable and came ght recommend, but insisted that I powdercoat wheels against the manufacturer's recommendations
Rim Doc: 100/wheel (face only) for a set of four and very excited to help. Seemed like a good guy but I wasn't entirely confident with this set of high end wheels I was refinishing. I will use him for my wife's stockers when they go to gloss black.
Ye Old Wheel Shoppe: 150/wheel, face+barrel excluding bends (standard paint only, custom additional), seemed very knowledgeable. Longer turnaround but offered to loan other wheels while mine were refinished. I used John and have been extremely pleased with their quality of service. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I hope this helps others in the future. It's good to know about wheels onsite, never heard of them in the past.

Edit: after I posted this, is poke to someone and they informed me that the reason I may not have been impressed with Nationwide is that the "brains" (their words) of the operation broke off and started National. From what I understand, he and Joe from AWRS are the best at duplicating factory and aftermarket hyper-black and hyper-silver finishes.
