Do the windshield. I'm running 70% 3M Crystalline. Works wonders on heat, and can barely tell its there darkness wise... poster ^above me is running the luminaire stuff, I hear that's also good.

I currently have 35 all around, but would've gone 20 on the rear windshield if I had to do it again. In sunny weather the 35 doesn't block enough sun IMO. I'd say go 20 all around since Florida seems to have lenient tint laws.

Tinting the front windshield is silly. Unless it is just a strip.

These are just 2 examples.

I,Personally, have 20% 3M Color stable all the way around, with 70% 3M crystalline on the windshield... Everyone has their opinion on which brand to use, but for you, I would look for a good heat rejection % if that is your main priority, then choose a darkness.

and yes, it is Clemson. I graduated from there.
CUTigers has got it right. Make sure to get a good heat rejection tint since that seems to be the main goal. Other than that get the percentage that works for you. Depending on time of day, weather, etc... the tint will look different.

I have 50% on the sides with 40% on the rear with Formula One Pinnacle tint. The heat rejection of the 35% was a little more but front side windows are illegal here so I wanted to stay tame. My friend still says it dark as shit at night and is surprised I haven't gotten busted yet. My other friend has the same tint but in 35% and while it's darker it's not that much of a difference.

Focus on the heat rejection and then go with what feels right for percentage.

Why is tinting the whole windshield with a good heat rejection film silly? He wants to keep heat out, what good does it do to have a giant piece of glass with no protection up front? If it is clear you will hardly notice the film but you will love the heat rejection. Wearing black work pants while driving into direct sun and they don't get warm or hot like before. You can't tell me it does not work. Plus it protects your dash and front seats. But you are right, it's silly for someone in sunny FLA.

+1 pretty sure I am going to do a 70 or 80 up front to reduce the heat. I dont like the black strip up front. For me its more about the heat reduction than making it look dark

This right here. I have crystalline all the way around (70% on the windshield and 40% everywhere else) and my car hardly ever gets hot even when sitting out in the CFL sun all day. The A/C doesn't have to blow very much either.

I bet that is awesome. I would have, but they dont make the crystalline darker than 40% ( as you know Im sure), so I just got the Color Stable 20%

When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale 12 years ago I had a Sunfire GT and then a MK IV Jetta. I did both of them in 20% all the way around and a sun strip on the windshield.

20% was the right choice. I used SunTek films both times. Did not disappoint. I hear great things about Llumar and 3M films too.

I am likely going to do my 08 328i in SunTek Carbon because the least expensive shop around here uses that film. I have also found a great gap in price here in PA... from $160 - $350. All 5 places telling me its computer cut Llumar, or SunTek film so definitely call around.

actually I did not realize 40 was the darkest for cyrstalline, minor bummer since that seems to have the best heat qualities. In that case I am thinking probably ceramic series 30%. Otherwise the color stable but it is not as good for heat rejection. any thoughts?

The Ceramic series is the 2nd best behind the crystalline, its good stuff. only goes dark as 30%, so I had to go down to Color Stable for mine. But 30% looks good. You would be happy with 30% Ceramic + 70% Crystalline

I have zero issues with how dark my 40% is. It seems a bit darker than what you would expect 40% to be

I think I am going to go with suntek HP or Carbon series. HP is more reasonably priced, I can get the sides, rear and windshield for 290, carbon is 360 total (they add 100 for the windshield). My only concern is that the HP is metallic, is this going to interfere with my FM radio? I do not have nav.

Ill let you know on the sun-tek. I am getting the sun-tek high performance tomorrow. Im still debating between 15% and 20% though. I am getting all around except for the windshield. If you found any info about radio interference let me know. I usually use spotify and satellite so not sure if it would hurt that at all.

Formula One Pinnacle is *I believe* ceramic so there are no issues with electronics. It goes down to 5% with 65% total rejection. Great stuff if you can find a dealer which decent pricing. I believe mine was $350 for the 5 windows (4 side & rear) and lifetime warranty.

I have a 330 and I just recently got rid of that blue stock tint. I had it stripped off the sides and had15% on the sides. I had the keep the blue tint on the back and just go over it with 15%. I absolutely love it although I wish I went darker still like 10%

Forget the law minimum get 15% all around. 10% would be perfect. I got Ray Band tint and it came out to 190% with front strip

20% is best look and blocks out most sun, but can be hard to see in dark parking lots.

35% is best all around IMO blocks out sun and keeps cool and does not obstruct vision in poorly lit areas. Only problem I have is that it is pretty easy to see through from the outside in sunlight.

I have 35 on both of my cars.
