Lightbulb Too many options for Pre-LIC Halogen to HID, Need advice please!

Hey Guys,

Right now my 328 (pre-lci) has the stock halogen's and not only do I hate the color but I really hate how little I feel like I am able to see at night.

It seems like modmy3 would be a good place to get the HID kit:

http://www.modmy3.com/e9x/bmw-e90/bm...anbus-kit.html

But then people talk about the lights being blinding to other drivers which I do not want. Is this true?

That part seems straight forward but here's what confuses me:

WTF ARE ALL OF THESE I SEE ON EBAY FOR???

http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-08-BMW-E9...080907&vxp=mtr
http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-08-BMW-E9...ce8cf5&vxp=mtr

Are they HID housings? Angel eyes? Just some kind of aftermarket headlamp housings?

I don't get it. My real question is what do I need to do a halogen to HID conversion without breaking the bank.

Thanks,
scott

Don't get the aftermarket crap headlights or the HID. Best bet is to find a pair of lci halogen headlights so you can get angel eyes or take a risk and get the depo p90s

Please don't stick HID bulbs in your halogen housings. You probably drive the same streets I do and the last thing I need is another person blinding me. Plus I guarantee you will have WORSE light output with the HID bulbs vs halogen.

Just did a stock wack halogen to wonderful beautiful euro lci ahl xenon headlight conversion. I am so glad I went all oem.

My recommendation would be to take your time and do it right. I know its expensive but you can find a set of pre-lci xenons for pretty cheap, like 400-500 then just get the bulbs and ballasts. Then just do the simple wiring and coding and your good to go. Please don't get the crappy depo's or hid-kits you will wish you just took your time and got some nice OEM's. Trust me I was in the same boat. Look at the difference:

i might get those ebay headlights u posted up and do a retrofit on them like somebody else did on this forum.

to hold me over while i save up for lci xenons.

we will see how i feel when i have enoughn money aside to purchase everything at once. whether ill save up a few hundred more for lci xenon or just do the retro to hold me over.

ill admit im getting tired of not having HIDs when i had hids/retrofits on all my lower end cars for years now lol. oh well

im going to try to be putting a diy together in the next few wks on retrofitting a pair of morimoto projectors and some sort of angel eye havnt decided on which one yet in a pair of ebay lights i purchased. Should be a good option for a budget conversion as parts and the lights ill still be under $400
