30K checkup question for dealer

Hi guys,

I have a good understanding of what the 30,000 mile inspection consists of...my question is, is there anything I should ask the service guy to take a special look at or is there anything I need to make sure and ask him to do?

Are there any little tweaks I can ask him to complete? Ex. The computer ECU system, I know the 30 K inspection involves a review of electronics/reset of the computer...is there anything I can ask him to do, that might enhance performance/etc?

Just wondering, hope this isn't a stupid question.

all these views and no tips? I know it's a stupid question, but example: the tip of resetting the automatic adaptive transmission....something like that i can ask them to do for me? (that was just an example of something i consider a tip/hint or not otherwise known)

technically there isnt really a 30k service. everything is based on CBS and what the computer tells them do to. if you want to do things on your own dime, id check the spark plugs and air filter at 30k. definitely check for leaks too.

They really didn't do anything special for my 30k service. They certainly didn't reset or flash anything.

Google Mike Miller BMW for a maintenance schedule.

Google Mike Miller BMW for a old school maintenance schedule.
There is a history of the maintenance schedule for BMW's
you should read it an make up your own mind.
Free maintenance = very little maintenance
Some thinks its Ok others not so much.
You are entitled to one free oil change a year(regardless of miles driven) its in the warranty manual that it is required be sure you get it don't get talked out of it.

Is there any way the dealer/service center can tweek the ECU in any way to give me better performance/throttle response etc?

I'm not about to buy a BMS booster and do all that shit myself

Not as far as removing the lag/throttle response. They will not do any work that is not required since they will not be reimbursed for the work, assuming its warranty work. Just have them do the basic things brakes, fluids, and filters if they apply.

have them replace the power steering fluid reservoir and replace the fluid (do it every 30K)

There is a standard checklist for the 30k Inspection which the dealer is supposed to follow. I suspect that any additional service or checks would be charged accordingly, but it never hurts to ask your dealer.

so i had the 30 k check up and the dealership also performed my battery cable recall replacement...

quick question though...they reflashed/reset the ECU (not sure the exact term I don't have work order in front of me)...and the throttle response feels "sluggish" now...I reset the AT by depressing the gas pedal for 30 seconds, this has worked in the past, not sure about now, I havent had the chance to drive it

any explanation to throttle response and ECU reset? The gas pedal feels heavier (so does the steering)

my feeling is its the ADT that needs to be reset...but it feels ridiculous now, like someone neutered my car : /

i have to really press pedal down to get any acceleration.
