dip your roof red?

Hi guys. Does anyone here have a red painted roof on his sapphire black e92? I am thinking about dipping mine with red plasti dip. I have red seats and some red stripes on my dark grey rims. Do you think, it may look straight? I cant really imagine...

thanks

Maybe if you did red gloss vinyl...

I think the red plasti-dip will look kinda of nasty, mainly because it has a really dull pasty look to it.

EDIT : I was interested in how it would look so I photoshopped the roof on this photo for you.

I like it!

Thank you very much for that instant response!
I think you´re right. The plasti-dip red propably is a bit too bright to look good. Nevertheless, the color you took on that picture actually works for me. Looks like i will have to find something else than plasti-dip for BMW asphaltfieber in july.

+1, I think it would look better if you did some red trim vs an entire body panel. The rubber "gutters" (no idea what they are really called, where the roof panel joins with the panel above the doors) on the roof line for example.

The shade of red will play a big part too, try it though that's the nice thing about plasti dip, it's not permanent!

i like the red roof but i think you need some more red if you are going to go with the entire roof red. Like put red grills or do red grills with black pin stripe down the front of them to tie in the red a little more.

If you dip the wheels in red and wrap the roof you may be able to pull it off.

This actually looks really good. Can you simply buy those somewhere? Or would I have to paint them myself?

Those are actually an aftermarket part you add in to your intake, I don't have the link but they are somewhere on the forums here for around $39 in either red or black. I think you have to remove the grilles or something to mount them in, I'm about to order a set.

unless your car looks like a crazy DTM race car, it'll look stupid and off-place. ESPECIALLY with plastidip.

That's the point... It doesn't.

The problem is, I went completely mad with wrapping and stuff on my last car. I do not want this to happen again... So I really do appreciate your opinions, especially if they are a bit critical.

The scoops may really be a bit too much

Look into vinyl man! Stuff isn't expensive and you can wrap your roof yourself decide if you like it or not and it comes off easy without damaging your paint

Good morning guys,

just shot some pictures of my car. What would you think about some red bits on the wheels? Must do something red to the car...

New more aggressive front bumper, rear bumper, 15 mm spacers on the back wheels, red stud conversion on the lugs, performance high kick spoiler or csl trunk, then I'd say you can red up the roof for show purposes only.

Ya know you can buy color tints and glossifiers to create the exact color you're looking for.
