N52 TCU flash?

Do we have any transmission software flash like the Alpina B3 TCU flash on N54 and N55?

or anyone have tried the Alpina B3 flash or other similar TCU flash on N52 engine?

I think the alpina flash is for the zf transmission and we have the gm in automatics. So probably not many available

I think the guys that tested the alpina flash for the n54 are trying to do the same for n52

ok, new question. Has anyone tried to retrofit a 335 AT into a 325/328? That should solve the alpina flash issue.

also interested in this, I can actually see the impact it has on races when the transmission shifts lol, needs to be faster than this lol

If you are talking about doing a tranny swap just to get the flash, thats an awful lot of trouble. with the money spent i dont think it would be worth it.

On a seperate note, how can you check what kind of tranny you have is some came with the zf tranny?

go to realoem and type in you vin and see what options there were for trannys, search tranny number from there to see if it is zf or gm

Ah, after i posted i got a little curious and found out 330's come with the zf.

Following your steps confirmed that as well. However, for the flash I believe there are additional criteria in addition to being a zf tranny

You can also check with INPA what kind f tranny you have. I believe that the GM comes with a Siemens TCU.

For anyone interested (with a cable would be nice) I would like to run an experiment with a few 328/325s to see if the flash takes. If you have the wrong hardware it just won't work. It doesn't "brick" your trans I've seen it. Can't try this in my own car, I have 6mt.

The best way to do this is go into INPA, open up e90 then go to Special functions and select UIF. Copy the number that comes up next to your trans ecu then open up winkfp and type this number into the enter zusb field and see what ecu comes up. If you have GKE215, the flash MAY work but it is not guaranteed.

I was thinking they put different trannys in the 335 to accommodate the extra torque. I couldn't tell you part numbers or anything though. Although many trannys use GKE215 the hardware is the determining factor here. If the necessary hardware is not present the trans won't flash.

E90 325i (w/ N52) has GA6HP19Z
- w/ part# 24007547901
- with torque converter part # 24407588738

E90 330i (w/ N52) has GA6HP19Z

E90 328 (w/ N51) has GA6L45R (GM Trans)
