m3 side splitter/diffusor (MOCK UPS ADDED)

so, i've been wanting these to bottom out the rest of my car to match my front lip. however, getting quotes from LTMW and overseas for $700-1200 is imo, ridiculous. simply slapping on margins for the sake if them not being widely produced.

i'm curious if anyone has purchased these before. i work for a large waterjet manufacturer and have open range on our lab machines to make whatever. waterjets are the best way to cleanly cut carbon fiber. i would need to take 6" off the ends, then pop in 3-4 bolt points to hold the splitter in place.

curious if anyone has grabbed them yet. labor will be free on me, so it'll run me about $300 all together, which is much more reasonable imo.

i havent seen them on any car yet, but i think with your hamann lip, those, and a cf diffusor, it would look pretty hot.

looks good. by take 6" off the end, do you mean taper them a bit so they flow with the car better? or would you be leaving them rectangular?

i'd have to leave the side exposed straight. once you cut into the fibers, you lose that nice smooth clear coated beveled edge. 6 off the end meaning from front to back so that it lines up right with the beginning and end of the wheel well.

Definitely watching, this is pretty much what i've wanted to do but was put off by the expensive side diffusors. Can't wait to see the mock up

oh, also, do you have m3 sides?

yep. i have m3 side skirts. the cheapest i found from any shop was $700 + tax + shipping. absurd.

with this carbon fiber lip i have on, i think it's a must to have to bottom out the rest of the car to match the aggression of the front end.

Oh because my buddy did something like that Audi but he got these like vinyl things from Home Depot he had my wrap in black carbon fiber and then clear coat them. Look nothing like real CF, but he got them for $15 a piece.

alright. here are some SUPERB shots of my mock up. please contain all your excitement surging thru your body as these are ONLY mock ups. premium cardboard fabrication at it's best. *don't mind the roll of tape holding it up underneath.

If you write up the dimensions for the cutout it'll help alot of us. Especially me Saturday morning haha. But about the vinyl ones, they're like foam so you can trim to the design you want. I'll be picking up two from Home Depot Friday evening.

i'll be honest. i don't care for the square angles. it needs some kind of curve or taper so it looks like it belongs on the car

the only think i've thought of is that when i go to sit down in the car, my legs/ankles usually brush up against the side skirt. With these poking out another inch or two, i wonder if they'd get in the way. Any issues getting in/out of the car with the mock up's?
