335d Max boost pressure before safe mode

Has any one identified the max boost pressure the car will do before the car shuts down

I have finally managed to get inpa to talk to my DDE after months of trying with different versions updating daten files etc. So could also finally read the DDE error codes. ( rather a lot of them... but then the cars been through a lot too)

I cleared the codes , adaption values etc and took her out for a little session this afternoon and managed to get so safe mode again this time triggering a code

4521 boost control, deviation
Error counter: 1
Logistic counter: 40
Mileage 167440 km
Engine speed 1/min 4495.95
Coolant temperature 100.32 C
Rail pressure is 1606.89 cash
Injection amount 67.35 mg / stroke
Air mass per cylinder 1310.72 mg / stroke
Actual boost pressure 2510.77 mbar
Pedal position sensor 99.21%
Duty cycle of 4.73% exhaust gas recirculation actuator
9:45% duty cycle boost pressure plate
Ambient pressure 1024.00 mbar
Boost pressure too high / negative deviation
Fulfills test conditions
Error has not occurred
Error would not light up

If it is indeed 2.5bar absolute ( and it's a round enough figure) then i need to have words with superchips to see if they will just drop it a tiny bit.

Ifanyone else has seen this error and the values are the same then i think it's safe to say that after over a year of mucking around to try and understand the issue , that it may finally be solved

Sorry to jump in on your thread. I do have a question, can you monitor the input variables live using INPA?

interesting.. as per this site (in french, see table on last page, or before last page), the 335d goes to 2.95 absolute in standard form.
http://www.auto-innovations.com/site...7t28print.html

It lists my car, N47, at 2.55 max. The pressure sensor on my car goes to 255kpa. I have the evolve remap, when i datalog (Bavarian technic) boost pressure it is obvious the actual boost goes above 255, but the system doesn't see it as the sensor is limited. I've never had any engine errors in the 3 years with the evolve tune.

I wonder if your system does a more clever check on expected pressures?

thats interesting !
I have a superchips map and they are always a little conservative with performance maps , SC have tweaked my map a little bit due to some issues before but today i update my DDE as it has not been touched since the car was manufactured so maybe there is a new file that changes some parameters ...

yes you can but find the torque app for android easier to deal with

Just updated the DDE and have wiped the Superchips map off it ( even though I retrived the map back to the controller before the 'update' so a phone call is going in 1st thing monday

I don't think its saying the boost has exceeded some mythical maximum.

It seems to be related to boost control, i.e. the boost is not matching what is expected or requested by the DME.

I can confirm that this is related to the map.
I updated the DME/ DDE this morning and as part of the update it's wiped the map (unfortunately) retried the same scenario and the issue does not reoccur.

Phone call to SC 1st thing to get my map back, might ask them to drop the boost by 200mb @ 4k onwards and see where we go from there
