Kimo, mine also is in the paint shop with completion 7/1. Supposed to be a 7/5 and 7/7 departure to Chas, SC with arrival for both on 7/21. Another boat on 7/11 arriving 7/27. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

The nice 1-800 lady tells me today that my wife's "vehicle is being transported to the port of exit." I assume yours is too? If you live in OH, would your car be coming into port in Charleston, or in NYC? We're doing a Performance Center Delivery in Spartanburg, so Charleston is right for us. Maybe we CAN make one of the July 5/6/7th boats. W&W is still not recognizing her VIN as being booked yet though.

Just an FYI, my car finished on 6/24 and showed up at the port on 6/28. Apparently missed the 6/30 ship to SC (where SW Ohio cars come in) so it is still waiting for a ride. Hopefully on the 5th.

Are you sure that it is on a W&W boat? I assumed the same, and couldn't find it on the shipping website. When I checked with the dealer they told me the name of the boat, and it is not a W&W boat, and belongs to a company that doesn't do web tracking...

Kimo, I'm in Cincy and know from the dealer the car will come through Charleston, SC. There now appear to be a 7/5, two on 7/7 and 7/11 departure from Bremerhaven to Chas. 7/5 is likely out of the question, but my car too is now "being transported to the port of exit". See below. Best bet is del. in Chas. between July 20-27 on one of four boats. Otherwise, it will probably be 8/3. My VIN is also not recognized yet on W&W's site.

ok, i know my ship came in on june 30th, the OC says the vehicle is at the VPC, but the 800 number says the vehicle is still in trasit, i know both of these arent the most reliable sources, so should i just assume the car is at the VPC?

this almost sounds too good to be true, supposedly my ship came into S.C. on thursday, and the OC said the car was at the VPC on friday. And now i check the OC again today and it says the car is at my BMW Center. This sounds suspiciously fast for getting a car from S.C. to Chicago. And with the holiday weekend i wont be able to get a hold of my salesman til tomorrow, does this sound too good to be true or do you think the OC could be messing with me?

Mine will be on the same boat as yours. It finished production on 6/22 and I just called today and it is "in transit" now. So I'm assuming its on the 7/5 ship?
When is yours supposed to arrive? I'm supposed to pick up my car the first week of August.

The 800 number also told me today the car is in transit although I still can't track it, I'm assuming it is on the Isolde and it is due in to Charleston on 7/20. Dealer initially expected it the last week of July in SW Ohio. She is off on Wednesdays so I can't bug her for an estimate.

My 330 arrived in NY/NJ on 01JUL05, and I was expecting to pick it up tomorrow or Saturday. Just checked the 800 number, and they've apparently sent it back to Germany just to tease me. It's now "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel". What beats me is how they got it back to Germany so darned fast!



The Owners' Circle says that it's "at the Vehicle Preparation Center", but it also says it's "scheduled for or in production" on my OC home page.

Wazup with our cars?!!! 800 lady still says waiting on shipping vessel, shipping website does not recognize VIN.
Current schedule makes me think our cars will be on the Falstaff, otherwise we're looking at an August arrival in the US.

Kimo, I'm also getting a Performance Center Delivery and would appreciate any tips, since I only decided to do this a week ago!

For starters, if you're planning to fly in, at what point do you know your exact pick up date so you can book your tickets? I'm hoping I can drive down from Boston, drop off my current leases BMW in the area and pick up my new car. But in case I cant do that I'll have to fly in.

We plan to spend a few days in NC and maybe a couple of days in VA either going in or on the way back. I have a lot of miles left on my current lease so I'd like to put more miles on this car and less on my new car! ANY suggestions welcome: things to watch out for, scenic routes, hotels en route etc. Thanks,

Has your dealer coordinated this with Spartanburg, i.e. faxed the PCD (Performance Center Delivery) Request Form down to them? Once that is done, they change the vehicle priority code from "1" -- meaning sold -- to "9" -- meaning PCD. You can call BMWNA at 800-831-1117 with your Vehicle production number or VIN to confirm that the change to PCD has been made. If this hasn't been done yet, my guess is that you'll really be pushing it to get the POA (port of arrival) changed from NYC to Charleston if your car is already built and waiting at the port in Bremerhaven.

I've answered some of your questions there. Consider the Blue Ridge Parkway for the return trip, but be aware of road closures near Asheville. Check out: http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/ and http://www.nps.gov/blri/. You can order PR materials from the first site. The Biltmore mansion in Asheville is very cool.

Let us know if your PCD works out. Maybe we'll see you there. I'm still waiting on a date confirmation from the PCD.

Kimo, I'm also a bit frustrated. I was hoping to get on the Patriot but my VIN still isn't recognized on W&W and the 800 number still says "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." I doubt I'll hit the Patriot tomorrow. Next boat is the Falstaff on Monday the 11th, arriving 7/26 in Chas. Surely I'll make that boat. Interestingly, my brother in law just did ED on a 530xi over the 4th weekend and his car is already on the Maersk Tide heading for NYC with a 7/20 date in NYC port.

My car came off the same ship. Today's Thursday 7/7and the dealer still hasn't received the car. Looks like next week. How about you, any ETA?

Kimo, yeah, he already sent some pics of his car with the lush mountains in the backdrop. He thought it would take 6 weeks to get his car but somehow he turned it in on Monday and is already on a ship. Having lunch with him tomorrow to see all his pics. What the ??
