Starting on My Second e93 Audio Build

So long story short my car was stolen around thanksgiving of last year and all of my recently installed stereo equipment was ripped out. So I'm starting off again almost from scratch with a couple left over items i had that hadn't made it into the car yet...

Anyways i have an alpine PDX V-9 five channel amp that i will be using to send 100W to the fronts, 100W to the underseats in bandpass, and 500W to a trunk sub setup in IB bolted to the ski pass hole. I have just grabbed a pair of Morel HCW-10's off of ebay BNIB for a super scheap price knowing I'm taking a gamble on if i can fit them in the underseat enclosures. Will be picking up a dremel for the hacking away I will be doing this weekend to try and squezze them in. I'm gonna order an AE IB12 to mount in the ski-pass, we'll see how that sounds.

My question is there really aren't many options at all (that aren't discontinued) for the front doors. I really can't find anything that's for sale anymore on kaigoss's sticky speaker list. Any ideas?? Also any other recommendations for my system would be great. My plans are to eventually grab a Mobridge DA2 and also possibly an MS-8 as budget allows. Thanks to Kaigoss and Ken of Musicar for all the help to date

Didn't know your last car was stolen. That sucks! Good luck with the upgrade, and happy hacking.

It's the same car, it was recovered. Wife drove it to a friends house left her purse in the car, because it has comfort access she didnt take key from the purse as you basically never take it out of pocket or purse. bam car was missing for 6 days, cops called me and found it parked about two miles away stripped of stereo equip. Thank god they didnt F up a bunch of other stuff, they did mess a bunch of the carpeted panels up in the trunk when ripping out wires. Oh well at least it didnt end up in Mexico and gone for ever....why did they have to take my Nav dvd tho? haha

From what i can tell CDT only makes a 3" set that would fit up front? Doesnt seem smart to downsize

The HD-4s will fit, top-mounted, at least in an e-90. OP, sorry about your car, someone must have been going around trying handles, or at least looking in cars for purses and then trying handles or breaking windows. That sucks, but makes me happy I dont have CA.

For 200.00 I fit a set of CDT CL-42 in an E90. No problems...but again it was an E90.

Sorry to revive an old thread but looking for reference on those same speakers for my base stereo upgrade on an E90. They are in my budget range but haven't found any reviews anywhere. How are they with rock? An alternative would be DLS UP4 but they are $100 more.

I listen to mostly rock and love them. Although I have them paired with the Jehnerts which i my opinion are great for midbass. I'm also using a 30 band eq to tame some problem freq. I have the CDT's crossed over at 200hz and the Jehnerts picking up from there. The silk tweeter is another reason I went with those.
