2008 E93 335i  [1.83]
Welp snapped another axle.

Finally got my car back LOL level 10 trans bits, LSD, Diff lockdown Idk what else. new tires ect ect

Sitting at a light turned off the traction control...spoooooolllll scrreetchh SNAP!

i though the trans just popped into N like it used before trans upgrade at low end tourqe but this time i snapped my left axle!!! I've been through 4 right ones and this is my first left one at least now i know the LSD is working.. but idk about the diff lockdown i should've used that money to get DSS axles instead.

It probably was already damaged before your diff lockdown kit, if you had wheel hop before. And the additional stress just was too much for it to handle.

Any chance your right foot is made of depleted uranium?

Seriously if you had the time to form any opinions, could you let us know re: Level 10 parts upgrade (which parts actually if you don't mind telling) and were you running Alpina flash or not?

Jeez Sammy you've had a seriously tough stretch of bad luck…what a bummer. Oh well after breaking all this OE crap now you'll have a pretty sturdy tranny and halfshafts lol.

Edit: If you're feeling frustrated don't dispare…last night I installed the low temp thermo, and I must have not torqued one of the housing bolts tight enough the first time, cranked the car over and it vomited oil EVERYWHERE. 2 quarts of oil and the OE thermo back in+bolts torqued as tight as possible, I washed out the engine bay and called it a night, tail very much so tucked between my legs. At least you messed your car up actually driving it.

i think they break in the same spot all my halfshafts break haven't had time to take it apart yet, but my axle was spinning and thats a good sign!

this car was built to go fast so was my right foot!!

hopefully soon end of semester I'm trying to find time for a lot of things!

Oh that sound terrible! LOL my luck has been absolutely garbage! with this car haha

LOL the fact that DSS needs you to send them axles to make the 1k hp axles it was downtime i guess, but now i have plenty of right ones and 1 left one i can send them I'm gonna order another ebay axle and put it in and send two broken ones to get upgraded. there was 0 wheel hop but maybe this has something to do with my car being 2 tons haha keep the upgraded ones till i break again!

Im a mechanic/Full time pre-med student LOL I'm 19, live with parents and got 100% disposable income to my car. and single don't have a female to spent money on
