We are all at SEMA - will have some updates next week. The IC is a direct bolt on kit as mentioned, utilizing the stock hardware and mounting points. Should fit on all 3 series.

Hey guys
I bought the SPP 335 about a month and a half ago and all I can say is that its unbelievable. But first I want to vouch for SPP. I've had experience with them before this 335 with my S4 and I couldn't ask for more in the experience. They got the work done within a short period of time and were very thorough and professional as well as friendly (my experience was good enough to make me feel comfortable buying a car from them didn't it?).

But on to the FMIC. I bought the car with it already mounted, so I can't fairly comment on the power gains, but I can say that it makes a tremendous difference in consistency. I doesn't surprise me to see that it gained power on the dyno with consecutive runs, because there is no noticeable loss of power after it reaches normal oil temp. during continuous driving. The motor keeps its steam at high rpms even after a full day of hard driving.

okey..im kinda lazy to read the whole 3 pages.here's my question did you run the car with on a stock form other than the FMIC? no exhaust, engine management etc?

Excuse the "lack of knowledge", but can one explain a potential loss in pressure? If I recall, this FMIC is said to MAYBE do 1psi of pressure loss. Is this comparable to other front mounts? I only have exhaust currently, and I'm questioning doing such an upgrade to assist in the keeping cool of my engine going into spring/summer. Any insight would be great prior to me pulling the trigger.

There is always going to be pressure loss between a point A and point B. Its just basic physics. Our main concerns when developing this intercooler were:

- no cutting or modifications required for installation
- thermal efficiency
- balance between thermal efficiency and pressure loss
- no blocking of the factory cooling system

No cutting. We didnt want people to have to cut or modify something in order to install our intercooler. In most cases, if you cut or modify something on the car, it would void your warranty with the factory. With a bolt on unit, installation and removal of the cooler would be simple.

At 84% thermal efficiency, this unit is POTENT! Sure, having dyno numbers are great but gains of hp only give you an idea of what the intercooler is doing. We used temp sensors at the inlet and outlet of the coolers to see how efficient the cooler is over stock.

- Our cooler has a great balance between pressure loss and thermal efficiency. A larger core may have increased efficiency a tad but would have resulted in a more significant pressure loss...or require modification to get it to fit.

You DONT want to cool your charge air more at the expense of heating your liquid cooling system more. Your coolant and charge air temperatures both affect how your ecu adjusts AFRs, timing and boost. Ive seen some coolers decrease charge air temps at the expense of increased coolant temps. The decrease in charge air temps allowed for more timing but as soon as the coolant temps went up, ecu pulled timing. It was basically a pointless mod at that time.
