2006 330xi and Koni FSD

I'm going to install a set of Konis FSD on my 330xi. Is there anything else I need to purchase for this job? I have 136k miles and right now my plan is to just buy the set of FSD's. Thanks in advance!

you may want to get a new pair of upper guide supports, since the bearings inside of them may be getting worn out at that mileage.

I see guide supports listed for the rear shocks on real.oem. Anything for the front?

If you want to make the job easier you should have a set of pass-through sockets. See the DIY. Also, when doing the front remove the whole strut by releasing the knuckle instead of compressing the spring while the strut is still inside. Once again, the DIY (toward the end) has info on that.

ECS tuning has a great walk-through video on their site and they do it the correct way. Good luck.

Not sure if dropping the knuckle will work on an xi since the drive shaft goes through the hub. It might not allow enough drop for the strut to clear the fender. All the DYI's I found are for RWD only.

I thought I could use two box end wrenches and didn't need a pass through socket?

Do the lower rear shock mounts normally need replacing?

Do the front bump stops require replacing? I've seen a couple notes for new struts that say they are absolutely required

the ones I was talking about are for the front. They are at the very top part of the front strut system where the 3 nuts bolt thru the strut tower. They look like a cup with a bearing at the bottom, and 3 bolts sticking up at the upper lip
