Overheating, limo mode! 335i E93 2007

Hey guys! As I left my house for work today a about 5 mins into the drive, my car trough a red code stating overheating, low coolant level, shut down engine etc. car then lost complete power and went into limp mode. The car temps were all normal and temp outside was 59'. I then pulled over and turned off the car to check my coolant level, which was normal. Turned the car back on and it ran good for the remainder of the 25 minute drive. As I checked the car there's a very minor water leak coming from the driver side near the left wheel and now my fans seem to be turning on immediately, once car is turned on! Thing is the leak is water not coolant based on what I have read am thinking water pump? Am unable to take a look at it now but just hoping for a few tips for what to look for once I start tearing it up in the morning! I upgraded my intercooler about 3 months ago and replaced my battery about 2 months ago! Any advice will be greatly appreciated Thanks!!!

Water pump or T-stat, replace them both. My guess is that dripping was just condensation from the a/c.

Before I do, as I took it apart today what I saw leaking was the left headlight washer or sprayer! Don't kno what to really call it lol everythig else was fine! Is this possible to throw code?

A leaky headlight washer shouldn't throw a code of any sort but that's an easy fix. Glad you found the dripping!

The overheat code is almost certainly a water pump though. I wouldn't drive it til it's been replaced or you risk warping/cracking the head
