Car Overheating

Hey everyone,

Well my car has been overheating and here are the recent things i have done.

changed out:

Water Pump
Thermostat
Coolant switch
Vented out air from system
Bled system

Does any have any insight what I can possibly do next?

One thing is my water pump that i just installed maybe defective.
After all these have been done car still overheats with the Symbols going from Yellow to red and the fan on high.

The t-stat is part of the emissions system (to control cold-start emissions) and will throw a SES OBDII trouble code light if it is defective. The water pump will throw codes related to pump speed deviation, which don't illuminate any lights in the gauge cluster, so those two items can be found to be defective by scanning the car.

If the system is venting properly by using the water pump, then the pump is good. Maybe the radiator is clogged.

First scan the car for codes if you are able. If not, perform the vent and bleed again since sometimes the first venting doesn't get all of the air out. Also it will allow you to listen for the pump and feel coolant running through the hoses if you haven't already. If you can hear the pump and feel the coolant then it is reasonable to assume that both your pump and tstat are working and you may have a clog somewhere like Efthreeoh suggested.

Other possibilities include a pump which is the wrong voltage, a poor electrical connection to one or both, or a defective part.

Where did you get your pump? Are you POSITIVE that it is the right one for your 330? There are different pumps and they look almost identical; the only difference is the voltage.

If you can hear the washing-machine-like noise created by water pump and can feel the coolant running through hoses on activating the bleed cycle (by turning on ignition but NOT starting the car, and holding down the gas pedal to the floor for 10-12 seconds.), your water pump is NOT dead. In that case it can be a wrong version of water pump since you are getting water pump related codes.

I just went through similar experience last week and people on this forum helped greatly and the issue was fixed. Hope yours will get fixed soon.

Just replace the water pump with a dealer item pump and I'm still having same issue. I vented the system 3 times and there's no washing machine like noise and lower hose is cold thermostat has also been replaced twice as well. Any ideas?

Do you know if there are any Software updates regarding the Coolant communication error. I am getting an Ambient temperature sensor which i know needs to have the software updated for that.

I'm not sure actually, but I'm surprised that you're not out of the woods yet. Sounds like there is some sort of issue with your car talking to the pump.

All of these electronics can be so frustrating.
