- Motul X-Cess 5W40, Motul 8100 X-Clean C3: 10.000 km ((normal and spirited drive, not track drive)

I am using also Motul differential oils, Motul DCTF for my DualClucthTranny and Motul RBF 600/660 oils.

+1 I only use Motul 8100 5W40 Excess in my 335i. Smooth, less knock n ping and great in warm countries. after warm up you hear no clicking noises that is usual on cold start ups. This means the pistons are not shearing. It's more expensive but so is my engine.

Mobil 1 is crap, I used it once and it burnt out in 3 weeks!

The oil I use is plenty good already, no need to change brands here. I'm just waiting to see this dude actually substantiate how a change in oil magically resolved his episodes of engine knock lol

I run 8100 Xcess in mine. 300v seems to be a bit overkill to me. We use that stuff in the race engines. With the 8100 I have noticed lower oil temps and great smoothness through the rpms. I won't use anything else except maybe Millers Performance Oil which our shop uses for all the cars that come in unless something else is requested. Its also a great oil.

Road Race Tech, aka RRT, in Dulles VA recommends Motul for their fluids. They are THE BMW shop in our the area and I'd trust them to do anything. I've been using Motul on my cars ever since dealing with them.

Data logs or oil testing ... Ahh no. Unfortunately we don't know of any place that can do that. But, as I said, Motol is the best oil for my car at its mileage.

What are u talking about- Data Logs? I know you can test the oil....but data logs....u mean from my ECU?

FCobra94....I do have a user name....I'm certainly a guy but address me by UN lol. Do u actually know what knock n ping is? If u did then u would know there is no way to DATA LOG that other then using your ears and ass, and a GT2/tool can, UOA, or if necessary OBD2 connecter that shows u how your pistons are working at optimal temp n at idle.You think everyone in this thread doesn't know the quality of this oil and it's specs...

After I changed oil, I'm still full on my I drive, great temp given the high temps in Beirut and agter aggressive driving and got an Autologic test 2 weeks ago and all is well...pistons in sync and after warm up I feel smooth changing of gears, ride...

Maybe you need a little lesson in oil, viscosity etc
