Auto Trans Shifter Removal Question

I am trying to replace my 07 335i auto shifter unit (frayed wires, no DS mode, already repaired once) with one from a 2011. I have taken off the center console, disconnected wires, taken off the 3 bolts that hold the shifter in place, but the shifter cable itself that goes to the transmission is still in place.

From what I found from searching, there is some sort of pin you have to disconnect from under the car to get the shifter cable to release. Before I go under the car and possibly break something expensive, does anybody have any pictures of where to look under car for this or advice from doing this before?
