2012, E91 the speedometer reads 155mph but after reading some threads on here, the real speed must be 150mph! That was on the autobahn of course!

What scares me the most is the f-ing road quality in USAnistan even when I go 80. The only time I will go above 90 on public roads is if the road surface is good and I can see far in the distance. The other day I was driving on I-95 and the bumps and holes were huge. On autobahn you have strict rules and excellent surface and is much safer to drive 140mph than 80mph on I-95.

im german and now live in the us and the difference in terms of road quality is HUGE, not to mention that we get temperatures around 0F as well, so thats not the reason, but we just invested money into the right materials at the beginning and dont have to redo all our roads like here in michigan.. road work every 10 miles or so..

140-150 mph was a normal speed for my dad on his commute to work everyday.

160mph, needle was still moving but was at a VERY slow pace and I was getting really scared so I slowed down.

At 3AM on I-10 (HOV lane) with nobody around but myself in Houston, TX (Katy Area)

'05 GTO = 157mph, factory limited
'07 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 = 186mph, was still pulling but got scared and let off
'07 335i = 105mph, quick pull after installing JB4

1974 or 1975, German autobahn, late evening, 1973 911s, 149 mph indicated and climbing when a patch of fog appeared. Momentary heart palpitations. But the patch came and went and needed to get off the next exit, so backed off.

More draining was constant speeds above 100 mph on my R75/5 with a passenger and luggage aboard.

One time after I had just gotten my E92 I did 115 on a quick highway merge.

Never did that again, I am totally against speeding.

130 in my '06 325i

Update: Early last month, September, I achieved 145. Stupid I know, but I was alone on a straightaway to work and couldn't resist. Took me a little bit to get up there(320i meh), but it made it. Likely won't do that again, but man, the rush was awesome!

Yeah there is a huge difference in the way the V10 pulls over any car I've ever driven once your over 100. I have had my M6 up to an indicated 167 on several occasions. The faster you go the harder it feels like its pulling.

Fastest I have driven the 335i is around 120-130 and you can tell its got a lot left in it.

2007 Bmw E92 328 120mph
2006 Saab Turbo Aero V6 Chip tuned 165mph could have done more but got nervous.

All on the Autobahn..Man i kind of miss that Saab it was my sleeper..took out many a Naysayers at my job...

335i with auto transmission 6050 rpms in 6 gear at least at the gauges so something like 187mph... then my side repeaters poped out!

Now it is limited to 170mph.

the top speed limiter is higher on the US Sports Package BMWs(152 mph). Non-sport is (129 mph). It's in your user manual. My M5 was even limited until the warranty expired.
