Persisting CEL; now what's next?

I have been dealing with this since last fall.

The code was 2C2E. The correct O2 sensor was changed. The CEL came back with the same code. Dealer says that there is a residual voltage that shouldn't be there. They required me to remove my PBX. Done. The CEL is still on.

Wiring/vacuum was checked. I have spent so far 600$ for this.

Could it be the computer (DME/ECM) that is bad? It is on the mandatory emissions warranty up to 80 000 miles and I am at 79 000. Similar experiences?
