Can the JB4 read codes with the G4 board or just G5

Just as title says, Im looking to use the jb4 to help diagnose the limp mode my car keeps going into,

I know the G5 board can read and clear codes, but wasnt able to identify if the G4 board can do that as well?

Thanks so much for your help as always!

I cannot try because I just bought a jb4 used, thats coming in the mail, and I am not sure if it is the g4 of g5 so i was wondering if i could do it with both....

Here is what the website says about the g5

"Featuring 5x the processing power, 2x the memory, more robust signal conditioning, and of course integrated CAN. The CAN module allows the JB4 to communicate with your vehicle like never before. New features are too numerous to fully list but include code reading/deleting, .....etc"

So you can read codes and delete them just as easily with the g4??

Thanks again

Both the G4 and G5 can read and clear codes.

^ though if you want to read codes with ease, you had best pick up the serial cable as well.

ya i picked that up along with it, im hoping to be able to fix whatever it is that is making my reduced power come on, Now as soon as i give it a little gas it just goes into safe mode right away, it used to only be in the higher gears... Im sure with all of info on this forum i should be able to narrow it down Thanks again!
