New brake discs?

Hi guys, brain picking time. My granddaughters just passed her test and has got her first car, a Mini One. I am thinking of fitting new brake discs. My question is why should I pay 30% more for one make of disc than another make of disc. I have checked out the specs. of various makes and they are the same, carbon steel construction etc. Chunks of inert metal to my eyes. So what is the difference?

Avoid Zimmerman discs and anything else will be fine. Just go to ECP and get Pagid or Brembo.

Keep a look out for 'vented' and non vented. Also stay away from Eischer and mintex. Apparently they are know to 'warp' a little.

Front discs on a Mini One are vented, rear ones are not. You need a caliper wind-back tool to do the rears.
