LuxAngelEyes ˃˃ LUX H8 Version 4 - Color Adjustable LED Angel Eyes

Having spent over a year in development and testing, LUX Angel Eyes is proud to announce the LUX H8 Version 4 angel eyes. These one of a kind angel eyes features a Color Adjustment that will allow you to change the light color from a neutral white 5000K to a cool blue 12,000K Color ( See note below about off-road use on certain settings) . There are 9 pre-set color settings that are adjustable by small switches on the power supply

Having built upon the features of the LUX H8 V3, the version 4 offers the new list of features:

• 9 color settings from 5,000K – 12,000K
• 100% no Dimming in all headlight modes
• No flickering on startup
• Fully Fused and No EMI
• New Heatsink design for Much easier installation
• Overall significantly brighter than the LUX H8 V3
• US Patent number 8,749,143
The LUX H8 V4 angel eyes use 8 of the newest Cree LED’s to offers unmatched brightness while its patented pending design makes both the inner and outer angel eyes as bright as possible. The new patented pending heatsink has a single flat side which correlates with the connector side of a standard H8 bulb, allowing for easier orientation when installing

How do these lights compare to the competition: Other brands out there claim they are 20W, 32W, or even 40W but not only are they all identical, they are only about ½ the brightness at best. These no-name brands dim to 1/3 total brightness when the headlights turn on, are not fused for protection and create EMI which can interfere with the radio. As well most of these come with no warranty and no support. All LUX Products come with our guaranteed customer support and a 1-year warranty.

To adjust the color settings on the LUX H8 V4 there are 4 switches on the bottom of the power supply with a label next to it with the associated color. Simply adjust the position of the switches and the intensity of the white and blue LED’s will result in a new color. Please note that the bottom 4 color settings (7,800K – 12,000K) are for Off-Road Use Only due to the blue hue of the light.

Looks fantastic! Any specials/promotions coming out in the near weeks for the product launch? I would love to snag a new paid for around $200-220.

Thanks so much for the update!

Is the comparison photo at the lowest temp? 5000k vs 20w bulb. Or is that a higher temp vs 20w?

Thanks for this. Always great to see some innovation in this space. Any chance you have pictures of the V4 in an E92 headlight? I know this is the most challenging application.

That is the 5000K color temperate being compared to the 20w brand

We do have a few of those headlights so we will work to get those pictures. We had a photoshoot with a E92 however it was too dark to see anything clearly. The E92 headlights do look almost the exact same as the E90 LCI Xenons though.

This is probably a stupid question but how can I check my e90 to make sure that these would be compatible with my car?

My car is a 2010 E90 M-sport LCI with projectors but the angel eyes are that ugly yellow, which I imagine are halogen. I think the projectors are Xenon and the halos are halogen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes we will have these at Bimmerfest and Bimmerfest East this year. We will have sample headlights there so you can check them out in person

How does color temperature affect brightness? That is, how much power is going to each LED at different temperatures? Does the lowest temperature run the white LED only at highest power and the highest run the white and the blue together at the highest power? Or are you dimming the white LED at all?

Wow. I might actually get this. I would like more photos comparing the old v3 to the v4. I would also only run 5000k.

Look great...any thoughts of having some sort of handl held device to change color without opening the hood? I have seen that on other car halo's. Any pictures of where the switch box hangs out under the hood? I "assume" it comes with 3M tape to mount the box?

The switch is shown in his pictures. It looks like four switches and you have to switch them in a pattern for the color you want. This would also be tucked in the light housing and not hang out.

Hard to tell from the above compatibility chart, so I'll just ask: will these work on a 2008 pre-LCI 328i sedan with factory Xenons?

Thanks.

Cheers!

We do not have an exact rating on these, but these are closer to 1000 lumen. As well we did find out that the V3's dimmed slightly ( problaby to 700 lumen) when the headights turned on. the new V4's do Not dim at all in all headlight modes

The brightness is relatively equal between all the color settings. An adjustment to a switch changes both the blue and white LED's at once. This keeps the unit at full power and full brightness regardless of which setting you choose

No for our car you need the LUX E90 V5.2 angel eyes.

That is correct. There is a diagram on the power supply showing the position of the switches relative to the output color. The power supply can fit inside the headlight compartment and is recommended to keep the headlight water tight.

I saw the dip switch box, but if it goes in the light housing it will not be conducive to really change the color temp easily. That is why I was asking about a remote device that could change the halo ring color like this... http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...ledremote.aspx You can change the halo ring light color with this remote.

Oh i see what you mean. Doing this would require a lot of extra circuitry and a complete redesign of the product. We can look into this as a future option as well.
