06 G35 coupe vs 335i sedan ?

My buddy is buying a G35 coupe and he's saying that it can beat the 335i in a race stock for stock if we're not racing on a roll. Is this true? We're going to settle this once and for all on a private road once he gets it. I just wanted to hear your guys's opinon on the matter.

Stock vs stock the 335i will win since it has more torque and those G35's are heavy, but the race will depend on who's the better driver if both are 6MT.

6 speed will kinda keep up but not really. i still think you can walk him easy. If he has an automatic then even worse.

Bet the whole bank! I had both cars. No doubt the 335i is faster in every way, even off the line. When I test drove my 335i I was shocked that it was almost as fast as my supercharged G35. I am saying all this with love because my G35 was my favorite car until my current TTRS.

I test drove both just a couple weeks ago before buying and the 335 will stomp on the G from a dead start or from a roll.

My brother has a G35, and my stock 335i would walk away easily. Now that I am tuned with Catless DP's, AFE intake, and HPF exhaust, we don't even waste our time or gas money .

I have owned both, the 335 is definitely faster, if they are both stock, your $100 is safe!

he must think the wing on the back of the G is good for some hp cant imagine how he would get the impression that it would be a win for him. The torque off the line will be a big advantage for you but like others have said if 6mt it'll be a drivers race. I've had both the manual and auto models of the g35 and it pulls pretty good up top but you should easily handle him if you dont spin the tires too much...

Auto vs auto, stock vs stock- I raced my buddy's 2009 g37s at Sacramento raceway. No biased fanboy-ism here. They are both great cars.

1/4 mile best out of 5 for me: 13:4

1/4 mile best out of 5 for him: 13:8

Both of us have experience in drag racing, so there was no driver error.

Edit: ticket. I was in the left lane and in this particular race was racing a c300. (sorry it's wet I went swimming afterwards)

Right lane is showing 15.4 so I assume you meant left lane.

G35's are slow. I've beaten them in my bolt on RSX.
