Help! rear window stuck, something snapped wont go up. (photo)

Hi everyone

Few days ago I started hearing clicking sound when closing rear window. Today I tried to close it, window went up and somewhere on the half way I heard loud bang and window stopped. Pulled over and moved window all the way up. Then, just to make sure that is closed completely stupidly I tried to close from driver side and window went down completely.
Luckily I wasn't far from home. Came back, removed the door panel and insulation and found this :

looks like something snapped... now, window wont go up at all. feels completely stuck. I was wondering if someone knows what actually happened according to photos or if someone experienced similar problem.

Thank you in advance

window regulator

What you need is what's called a window regulator, the whole assembly.
Don't know the price for it , but that would be the easiest thing to do.
Hope that helps

Any idea how to lift the window up? It's stuck all way down.

Yup, exactly what you need. The loud sound what probably the regulator wires snapping.
As mentioned you will need to replace both regulator and motor. Which both can be found here...http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-328...rch/Regulator/

Both my rears broke too. While waiting for parts I ended up cutting the part of the cable that was jamming it and raising the window by hand (literally reach in and raise it by lifting), then shoving a couple wood shims down the inside of the weatherstrip seal inside the car to secure it up and closed (so I could drive it).

In order to get it up ....
not much of a choice, grab any 2 X 4 cut it to size, grab the glass, put it up, shove the wood under, that is it. You got it UP .
Now make sure you secure it nice and tight, cause if it comes out.... it may end up with a shutter like bang.
I had to do it with my wife's acura till the part showed up.

The motor will probably be fine. I have not heard anyone replacing the motor when the regulator breaks.
