Andrew, N55 diverter valve is integrated into the housing, no? Vargas claims that this will utilize a stock housing so your question is a good one. VTT, will this make use of the stock diverter?

Hurry up already, I want to see some numbers and then I am pulling the trigger. Do I need an LSD now if I add the turbo upgrade on an Xdrive? Will jb4 regulate what is needed for the bigger turbo? Fmic is a must I guess since that is one mod I am missing.

FMIC and oil cooler I'd say. I wonder how an LSD would behave on an AWD vs RWD, and if it would be needed at all.

man this month has been good for turbo engineering... I may get a e92 M3 since Gintani just posted their twin turbo setup (impossible made possible)...forget a SC...its all about the TT

Exactly! The stock diverter is tiny and its already sounding like it has some compressor surge at high boost.

The stock diverter is electronically controlled, and intergrated in the housing, speaking with Cobb they said they were having issues with it as well and are hoping to find a way around it and just use an aftermarket recirc BOV. This is just growing pains, once hardware like this is available the parts like aftermarket BOV's etc tend to follow suit rather quickly. Our estimate is based off this exact turbo set-up putting down 550+ WHP on different motors, the fuels used vary. This turbo will support a little less then that as it is running through the stock housings so 500 is a perfectly doable number, how we get there, tuning, fuel, etc remains to be seen. Once we get it on a car and testing things will become more clear quickly.

I see bog warner has some larger twin scrolls with integrated diverters. I wonder if they can be swapped with ours with some machine work to the housing. .

? I know exactly what hardware is needed on my end to provide a turbo that supports the WHP we are claiming. Thats exactly what we are selling you. Complimenting mods to take advantage of them are always the responsibility of the customer. Things such as fuel upgrades, intercoolers, charge pipesm BOV's etc.

This should be a great step forward in performance for the N55.

I think a lot of people are very skeptical about the turbo upgrade because physical numbers have not been posted yet along with drivability, reliability and tuning.

I would be interested in something like this, but personally will hold out until I see solid numbers and how the turbo and tuning will work out.

Please continue to keep us updated with pictures, videos, dyno graphs and any additional information that you can provide.

Best of luck with the remaining r&d and sales. Thank you for all the time and money you have invested in this product for our engine.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Its going to rely 100% on the tuning. Turbos aren't magic, you are putting as wheel in the exhaust stream to turn another wheel connected by a shaft to force more air into the motor. On these cars to take advantage of that extra air all falls back on the tuner and the ability to access what he needs to in the DME to do this. Pretty simple when you look at it that way.

I'm guessing that the diverter on this engine is electronic due to valvetronic governing - no throttle plate in use under normal driving conditions so no pressure differential when you back off the throttle = conventional BOV doesn't work. Surely someone will come up with an uprated electronic option.
