BMW Extended Warranty Payment Options

I'm coming to the end of the AUC Warranty period and am just working out how best to pay for the extended version which I plan to take.

Am I right in thinking the only benefit of paying monthly is if I am coming up to 60k miles my monthly fee would remain the same instead of almost doubling if I'd have bought it yearly?

My car has 44k on it but I only add about 5k/year so nowhere near 60k yet - in which case I plan to avoid interest on the monthly payments and go for a yearly payment - unless I'm missing something?

As far as I know ...

Even if you pay monthly they will review it and up the price when you tick over the mileage. They'll write to you that they plan to increase the DD unless you ask them to cancel.

So just pay annually.

And further to that try very hard to be on 59k when you next pay annually

I renewed mine 12 months ago at 59k (Fully Comp, no excess). I'm now on almost 70k and there's been no indication from BMW that they're going to increase it. Mine is 87 a month anyway, so they're getting their pound of flesh!

I remember reading somewhere that if you do pay monthly and you plan to sell the car, you cannot transfer the monthly policy to the new owner, (though I was told by BMW that the new owner has 10 days to continue the policy and monthly payments from the date you cancel it).

You can only transfer annual policies.

I've been on an annual policy for a year or so since going over 60k and never had an increase, even after a couple of large warranty jobs. I pay 39/month with 100 excess and breakdown which is a bargain...hopefully they won't put it up now!
