That's just mad.
Hope they're alright.
When I did my 2 laps with my 335i, I was only going like 60-70%.
Just not worth it, not a game.

Jeeeeesus!

I'm surprised that wasn't worse. Having owned a Type R many moons ago it didn't exactly feel like it would withstand hitting a wasp at high speed let alone any kind of barrier.

Exactly, I did the same when I was at Brands. I said to the tutor that I'd come back and do the M3 experience and let loose, he said it was usually the other way around which I thought was weird.

It says he is ok.

Aren't the charges for damage very expensive?

I'll try and make sure I save my crashes for Snetterton then. Sounds like a good idea to crash there.

I hope the poor fella has insurance that covers him on the ring.

Looks like its coming up the other side of the fox-hole, is a great section of track I love it. EDIT, looking at it again, I'm not so sure it is...(the fox hole)

But that is one hell of a smack. Nasty, nasty. Fingers crossed no serious injury.

Is the VAT different in Norfolk then, I know they are behind the times out in the sticks but shouldn't that be 20% VAT, very unlike JP to undercharge anyone

Damn... rough impact.

From experience the little Honda's are tougher than they sound or look.

Had a Civic CRX commit suicide on the drivers door of my 75 Coupe Deville. Sure her Honda was destroyed as it flew backwards into my drivers door about a foot off the ground after being broadsided by a GMC 2500 going about 55mph, and it sorta exploded in a shower of glass and plastic that filled my car (my window was down). It's also true that my CD player didn't even skip, and I opened (MY) door when I stepped out to see what I could do to help.

But there was a perfect little survivable bubble inside the balled up Civic where I found a teen with big eyes looking up at me with a "What the fuck happened" look to her. A few bruises, lots of little cuts, but stepped out and had one of my smokes while she stood there and did the Adrenaline Shimmy.

So yeah Honda's can take a hit, but the Caddy just sorta wiggled. Hell my window still rolled up and down, two doors, 6600 lbs, and 19' 6" of steel will do that. Though completely useless round the ring.

Sorry, assumed James was talking about the charges connected with his role here in the UK, hence the pop at Johnathan Palmer.

That 1% extra over here makes all the difference

Eek - never knew that you had to pay for all that stuff for crashing... Thought the car getting wrecked was bad enough.

Every lap I've ever done has been puncuated with accidents..

One lap there was an M5, RS4, caterham, Subaru, 3series, something else and 2 bikes. This I must add was ONE accident, not two or three separate ones. All were trashed and the barriers down both sides of the circuit for a considerable length.

Is it actually possible to get insurance for the Ring at all? I've often wanted to go but looking at those costs I don't think I'd bother going with my own car tbh.
