One 6.5 would do it I think though

One 6.5 per side would do it I think though.
How many amps would it take to properly run 3 per side plus a 4
and the under seats.

I run the jehnert door panels and under seats plus Dynaudio mid ranges and tweeters passive 3-way and a Dynaudio Esotar sub off of one Helix Competition A4S amp and it POUNDS loud as hell.

Before I got the jehnert door inserts, I had Dynaudio 8" midbass drivers in custom kick panels. There's no way around custom work if you want correct midbass.

So in order to achieve the holy grail of mid bass, what Gould we be putting in our door panels? Can we really get a 6 1/2" speaker in there even with fabrication??? I know we can get 5 1/4's in there as I have seen that done.

I am really interested as I want to pull the trigger on my door/tweeter and underseat replacements soon. I have a JL W3v3 10" sub in the trunk.

It's not a stock hole solution.

It's not a stock hole solution.
Its a new panel that uses the useless map holder space.
Jehnert panels I think it replaces the whole lower door panel .

I've heard the Jehnerts door panels and they sound amazing. I have custom 6.5 door pods in my E60. You cant get any decent midbass from a 4" driver.

Attached is a picture of a Jehnert install Don and I did in a customer's e92 a few weeks ago (without the grills). Those are 6 1/2's. If you top mount, like i did in my e93, you can fit some 5 1/4's in the 4" location.

How much does that setup cost?

How much does that setup cost?

Cost of Panel with and without speakers and per speaker?

How do you power than many 6.5's you would have 6 total
if you fully populated both sides. if they are wired in parallel wouldn't
that present and excessive load to most amps.

i do not recall what the price is, you'd have to e-mail Don at mypearltpi@aol.com

it's 3 per door plus one under-seat. you can power them up via passive x-over as a 2 or 3 way setup or go active. either way a 4-ohm load is introduced. don't understand why you think it's hard to power up. simple series/parallel wiring.

as i stated earlier, i run 4-6 1/2's, 1-5 1/4", and 1-1" tweeter per side and have them wired up with a 3-way passive crossover to two channels (left and right) of a Helix Competition A4 amp and have the sub wired bridged to channels 3 and 4. One amp.

If everyone likes the Morel's so much, why would you not introduce some minor fabrication and put in the 5 1/4" Morel Virtus 502's? Higher Sensitivity and Frequency Response will help introduce more mid base than the 4" 402's.

I am leaning towards the 5 1/4's as the work need to install them doesn't appear to be that much. I realize that they are slightly deeper by 6mm's.

On that note, are there any other 5" + component's out there that have a depth of 50mm's or less to consider?

1 solid 2 channel amp- three way passive with quad mid bass per side - 4Ohm final load. If active, then like any other 3 way set - 6 channels.

Me thinks you are just messing with him now.

there are 8- Eight mid bass drivers total. 4- Four per side. All are 4Ohm. 4 4Ohm drivers in series/parallel = 4Ohm final load.

What did yours cost and how many speakers of what size are in each side.
Not only M3, although I would wonder who made that believable - e9x/e9x M3 = same door panels. However they are available for All e9x, loaded, unloaded, standard Black, Nappa and so forth.

I WISH they were near that price ! I would most likely sell less, but make a killing on each set ! Not my motive though ..

8" that comes standard ? Except more than half of them are 6.5s in 8" frames.

Please define 'costly'. Perhaps you are right, but everyone has their own definition.

Regardless of what you may have read and/or heard there is not a single 5 1/4" that would work well as a dedicated mid bass with any sort of authority, Especially in an E9x.

Door panels look to be two styles.

The one on the M3 has two map holders and that three speaker insert
fits in the M3 but most of the e90/91's have one continuous map holder
that runs the length of the lower door. Does that require something totaly different. Went to the Jehnert Web Site and notice that they quote a 2 lower
speaker per side setup and a 4 speaker per side setup . I think the 2 per side also includes a 4 inch and a tweeter plus a crossover. They quote around 800
euros but I don't know if that is per side or for a set of doors. Also its kind of unclear if that is a whole panel or just the lower portion.
Can anybody clear that up?
Not messing just trying to understand how this works and what is costs .
Since more people don't do this I think there must
be a reason why is it overkill or necessary to have 4 6.5 per side for the average audiophile. I can see some value at fixing the mid range with a mid range driver but even two 6.5's seem like a lot but one might be nice.

They're for All of the E9xs and yup, I installed em in all of them too !

All of the sets (loaded) include all of the mid bass drivers, midranges, tweeters and the appropriate crossovers for that vehicle.

The Euro price IS a bit different than the U.S pricing, but all pricing is per set (left and right).

Shit ! You edited while I was responding to the original ! lol

The majority of people aren't even familar with the company, let alone the panels they offer. If they have heard of it, the immediate thought is the underseats and/or Flatline systems. Sad since they have been making these for 25 years now !

I have a TON of clients, both local and far, that do the door board system and do Not utilize a sub. Yes, very capable setup with boatloads of energy that requires a simple two channel setup, minimal space loss looks OEM (nearly)- CAD drawn, CNC/Laser cut, OE leather/leatherette wrapped.

ALL drivers are made in Germany as well.

Oh and I missed one of your questions .. it is Not an entire new door panel, they attach (very securely) to the lower section of your current one. The pics show just the raw boards as well:

Can you get the panels seprate from the Speakers?

Can you get the panels separate from the Speakers?
If you already had an upper door panel setup and tweeter?
I think they say its a 2 ohm load per side on the website with
two woofers. O it was 840 Euros for a two 6.5 setup on there site.
Is it just the lower part of the panel on the e90/e91's that gets
changed?

So they have one the works on the e90/e92 which has a very different map holder from the m3.

Yes, they are available loaded and unloaded. Yes, the dual 6.5 is 2Ohm and the Quad 6.5 is 4Ohm.

In the works ? No, already available. Perhaps the pics are not all correct on the site, but I have done them.

Just the lower part:

I have a Vp kit with Dotechs and Jehnerts.

I have a Vp kit with Dotechs and Jehnerts.
I have to say those xe-200s has some of the most accurate best
bass have ever heard. Thanks for the responses.
Almost any stereo shop you walk into around here has never heard
of Jehnerts and most don't have Morels either.
I looked at the site and they do have the other one its not as clear how it fits though.
