Maine-Washington State roadtrip advice?

I am relocating from New England to Washington in early October. Any advice on keeping the bugs, etc. from getting stuck to my clear bra? Any input from those who have driven cross country will help? Hopefully my RFT's will make it through the 3200 mile trip.....
I looked into shipping my car out to westcoast, its going to be $$$$, plus I have read too many horror stories about people who have paid to ship their car.

As of now I plan to pack up my car the weekend before Bav Auto Show and Shine and leave from the Bav. Show on sunday.

4 days is what I have estimated, not sure if i have a co-driver to help me with driving.

enclosed transport is really not that bad, call Intercity or Fedex for a quote

When I moved from Wisconsin to Boston, I just used an open trailer for my C320 and it was fine.

Negotiated them into the price of the car, but you can pick them up at any dealership.. I think they're about 100 bucks. If you go to a CCA-friendly dealership, you could probably get them at a discount..

For the winter they do a very good job of containing all of the water/mud/snow, etc..

Hope this helps..
Josh

I took the cross country journey a couple months ago. Drove from California to Boston in 2.5 days. Was quite a trip. Its alot easier with a friend as you can take turns driving.
