Would you ever go back to non-luxury brand/car?

Would you go back to lets say to a Camry or a Corolla?

in an instant.

I honestly dont know how bmw can provide a luxury car thats in the shop more often then the other brands out there And when it's in the shop it costs over twice as much to repair.

Probably not. I came from a 1999 firebird to a 2008 335i and I've never been happier to drive a car. Owned it for almost a year now and love it every single time I drive. If another car gave me that...maybe

VW sure. Honda....well "Acura" maybe. Same for Lexus--their new IS350 is sounding real good according to Road and Track/Car and Driver.
Wait, I guess a Lexus is solidly in the Luxury class. Never mind on that one.

So, VW yes. Ford, maybe.

Definitely. A lot of the "non-luxury" cars have standard amenities that could cost thousands on a luxury car. I.e. navigation, bluetooth, etc etc.

Depends on your usage.

Not Camry or Corolla, but if a car would drive similar to BMW why not. New cars have a lot more features than they used to and at the same time I feel like some luxury brands are cheaping out on stuff which makes a gap even smaller.

I could never go to a Corolla, Camry, or any sort of mass market transportation appliance.

While I would not enjoy it as much as my BMW, I would be decently happy with something like a WRX, GTi, Focus ST, BRZ/FR-S, etc. No way I can compromise on fun to drive but the luxury trappings could be sacrificed for affordability.

Edit: not sure why I would ever need to do that though. If I needed to sell the E90 I would buy another E46, do some preventative maintenance and drive it until the wheels fell off. As long as you stay on top of maintenance and are willing to do some work then BMWs aren't much more to maintain than any other car.

Waiting to see new WRX, or if I could ever get an auto, checking out the new IS. After having 2 bmw's, the cost of ownership and lack of standard options have left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Since when is a 3-series a "luxury" car anyway? Bad enough that half of this board thinks their 335i is some kind of racecar. I guess the other half thinks that their 3-series is some kind of exclusive luxury automobile. This thread is indicative of the mindset that has earned BMW drivers the distinction of being some of the biggest douches on the road. Guess what? I probably saw 5 e90 3-series on the way to work today. And I don't even live in a city with any wealth in it. Get over yourselves.

They are sporty, mid-priced cars that are as common as can be.

Doing it now. I'm driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 right now because my E93 was totaled two months ago.

I actually am sleeping better at night and it's so friggin' nice to be able to just drive places (any place! Any part of town!) and not give a crap about where to park, OMG am I going to hit a pot hole, etc.

This AC sure as hell works better than the BMW's ever did.

Regardless...I plan on buying an F32 (428i) in a few months. I do miss the handling, the "fun driving thing" and the attention it gets.

You sound very angry over something trivial. Maybe you should seek some professional help?

Possibly, but not to a base model. It would have to be like a maxima or another flag ship for the product line.

3 series should be considered 'near luxury' which is exactly what I want. Fun to drive sporty but semi luxury in features and ride.

I can see myself driving a Ford Mustang but I have been all over the spectrum for the last 5 vehicles, Expedition, Lincoln LS, Dodge 1500, Infiniti M, and now an E93

Bought my first BMW in 2006 after 17 years driving a 92 Accord 5MT just shy of 300,000 miles. Changed to a few different BMWs since then, but a part of me missed having a Honda in the garage. So next to my E92 is a CR-Z 6MT.
